I agree with your assessment. Funny because in the previous video I thought the bullnoser might be a better design. With the uncomfortable handle ergos it didn't do great. I also noticed it was kinda sticking in the wood. Now if it was doing true machete stuff. Example small limbs and sapplings that you get a complete pass through it might shine. Very interesting test.

I gotta say ...your weather looks to be quite mild of late. It has not stopped raining this winter, Oregon is definitely proving its name ...THE RAIN STATE I usually like the rain here but dang im getting spring fever bad. I cannot wait for dryer days. I love seeing the ole Becker still kicking butt.

My skrama has served me well for years and I've never felt the need to buy another chopper. 80crv2 at 59rc at the edge is an amazing steel for the purpose, plus i like how you can choke back on the handle for chopping or choke forward for finer detail work. Dang I did like the look of that bullnoser knife it was sad to see how bad the handle was. WTG looks to make nice choppers and of course every1 knows the name esee when it comes to big knives. Good vid

@@michaels7499 like I said there will be a part two. I’m trying to be as fair as possible but the Esee still took as long as the V44X and the Skrama and it had the thinner piece so there’s that. The Skrama had the slightest thicker log and still cut through it as fast as the junglass

I own both the BK9 & the ESEE Junglas I & II, I prefer the BK9 overall just because of the functionality across the tasks I do with it. For chopping I'd go with the Junglas just because of the weight, grind & they are tough as heck. The other consideration with the BK9 is I have put on micarta handles as those plastic BK handles are utter crap. As far as straight from the factory goes, the ESEE knives, handles & sheaths beat the BK range every time in my opinion. Great video, thanks for posting & I'm left wondering why you didn't just use an axe 🤣 God bless you, your family and your channel Brother!

To be fair to the bullnoser, it was the only portion of your testing where the limb was bouncing; whereas the others had the advantage of the life being placed solidly. I'm not sure if that would make much of a difference though. Especially with handle ergonomics and comfort.

I agree to the bouncing, they all had a bit of bouncing but that bullnoser did destroy me hand which was the main cause. I plan on doing a part 2 of chopping to see if I can make it as even as possible
