Oh she was so cute when she danced at the end. I have these same problems sewing for my little Blythe doll. Each time something doesn’t fit right but never the same thing as the last item I sewed.
As you found out, our patterns are about 3 inches bigger than what they need to be. Always baste the clothes together first then try them on to see if they fit. We usually put them on inside out so we can make alterations. I think that's why no one here makes their own clothes, lol. They never turn out right and the material is crap. You did a great job fitting her. It looks great. She has grown into a lovely lady!

3 inches is also expected to be large! I've been slacking off on discipline until now due to boredom, but I think I should do it *Thank you for teaching me so much*

So sorry you had to endure American big four patterns! Lol. It took me a long time to figure out that in order to fit into these, you need to use the finished garment measurements and not the body measurements for sizing. Also make sure to buy patterns at Jo-Ann's when they are on sale because they're marked down to $2 each which saves a lot of money! ...and to use the ones marked easy because there's so many available and I find the easy patterns cover any type of garment so I feel like I might as well use them if possible. I absolutely love your videos. You are a marvel, your home is lovely, your kids are adorable and these videos are so warm and totally brilliant! So glad i found your channel! Thank you for giving us a window into your awesome life.

Thank you for teaching me so much! It was very useful information. And thank you for complimenting the video. This will give me encouragement for the future *
Late to the party, but the dress patterns here are for "juniors" about 5'6". (167cm?), so your daughter would be too tiny for that - the waist would be too low. I have to shorten *everything* so I've become an expert modder on US patterns. However, you recovered very well and since you totally changed up the style with the sleeves, it worked. Had you not put the sleeves on, you may not have been able to salvage the design. As you can see when she sat down, it looked perfectly good and she could still move in it. Well done! And you can use the pattern again in a few years when she's a bit taller and older. It will be perfect!
