Go with your read, 23 is the only hand that he would have that you can get him to fold. Unlikely he has K2 or K3. If you think he is capable of trapping, giving up is fine. Not sure about the turn play, if he had 2 pair like KJ he probably should protect by betting against a drawing hand like yours, his check raises looks like a flush.

AK hand... I’ve learned that “sneaky” plays end up in more bad beats. Play your AK the correct way and 3-bet him the correct amount pre-flop. Maybe he calls, maybe he folds. Either way the whole dynamic of the hand changes, you’ll make more in the long run

This kinda eases me a little. I legit lost my stack yesterday with AK in 1/3. I raised 15 (shoulda done more) and everyone called lol. Flop came K 4 3, I raise it 25, one calls. Turns a 6 (all rainbow), I raise 40, they raise to 110, thought about pushing all in but just call. Rivers a 8, they go all in for 300 something, I think then call, they have 5 7.. I definitely play this hand wrong I think, but ya live and learn, love poker tho :)

Q10 is a fold on the turn, you could be drawing dead when the flush comes in. AK is a 3-bet pre. Forget about getting “tricky”, at lower stakes bet your premium hands for value. It’s a definite to get it all in on the turn.

On the river most players are not checking to induce with a flush or trips/better. Certain players will check call a king there depending on your sizing but I think the you can bluff there a lot of the time. His line of check raise turn and then check river makes no sense though so I can see why you'd be hesitant to pull the trigger on the river.

With the AK hand I guess we have about $115 behind? We're snap calling this off. Loose villain firing 3 streets and we have blockers to AA and are on top/top. He can be bluffing tons of diamond combos or even value betting KQ. I think we were looking to get this in the moment we saw the flop against this guy and the price is too good not to call.

To that hand. Do you think that guy is a winning player? I bet that guy is probably one of the most winning players in the game and he’s doing what every player doesn’t want him to do they’re putting maximum pressure and when he doesn’t have true equity in the situation he’s folding. The 23 spot is may be a little questionable but you have to give the guy credit he raised when he was ahead and then checked behind. I’m just curious if it’s identifiable to other people but this player is a tough player to play against and just because he’s raising or calling an extra 15 with 23, it is very obvious that he knows when to put max pressure on

Flatting against a loose player w AK in position is okay to mix in, like 20%, but you have to 3 bet most of the time. You also have to bet that flop. I know it's dry but a nice check raise or reraise is good. Both players mishandled their cards, basically. Yeah, he got lucky but you let him.
@jinwoomatthewkim6613

With the AK hand, you could go both ways with raising or flatting on the flop. However, I would have elected a raise in this situation. It seems like a baby flush to me betting the flop more often than normal. If he doesn't have the fd, then I would probably put him on Kx, but we have him outkicker. There would be times where he could have K7 and sets, but I would say rarely, especially since he could have any two cards in his range. I think that the mistake was flatting the flop with a really strong hand. If you decided to flat, I would be shoving then turn.
@joecentrone7053
3 жыл бұрын
There is no way he would have called if you jammed. You have to make em pay if you believe that you have the best hand before the river. If he calls so be it ,if not they won't call so easily next time. Good luck 🤞 I enjoy your site.

Tough call but if your gonna call the turn raise.. go for it on the river. If the opponent has a flush they bet small on the river... wouldn’t check it to you and risk you check back... they get no value. Plus as the preflop raiser... all the high cards are in your range.. if you jam the river I believe he would put you on a jack or king. Ace king hand... maybe think about re-raising preflop. I know he raised UTG and it should be respected but this opponent also called a raise out of the big blind with 2 3 offsuit. That’s informs you that his raises could be from a wide range. Don’t sweat the Ace7 of clubs.. that’s a good fold... the price wasn’t right to call, 50 to win 200 at that point with you needing runner runner to make a hand with showdown value! Chances of making runner runner flush... 4%.. runner runner straight... 1% Great video though bud. Learn from the session and run it up next time.

You def played both of those hands as poorly as possible. You showed weakness to the same person twice. Probably more than twice during this session. And something like that is easily spotted. He would not have called his stack with a turned 6. And he most def would not have called if you 4 bet that hand instead of playing soft. Its so important to maintain aggression in those spots. Sure you could have still lost the hand but never once did you put any pressure on him or make him feel uncomfortable. Bad session. But keep your head up. Not a game for the faint hearted. Keep learning and grinding.
