Old Schooler by today's standard. For people who grew up with football in the 70s, 80s and early 90s, this will bring a smile to your face.

Big Ron! I'm too young to remember him as a manager but I remember him as a pundit, enjoyed his insight. Its a shame the way he had to go especially as he did so much for the promotion of black footballers in England.
@leonleon2276

It was his job. Don’t give him no rights to start using racial terms. I liked his punditry also, but he showed his true colors in the end. I’m sure the black players he brought through was shocked at it aswell.

@@leonleon2276 You act like he murdered someone, I can guarantee you every single one of us is guilty of doing wrong things in life, he was sorry for what he said and what people say in a moment of anger doesn't say anything about their thoughts on race, have you ever been angry at someone and called them something to do with their looks like overweight or short of ginger or whatever it is, it doesn't reflect your general character does it?

@@Dante-vf4sd yes I have done it. Difference is I’m not a celebrity, I’m not no face of anything, no public figure , and I wasn’t live on tv. Right or wrong harsh or not, it’s a sackable offence in most jobs if not all. It’s all about keeping face and the company distancing themselves from anything wrong like being racist.

@@leonleon2276 Then you are the lucky one because we are all human and all make mistakes regardless of our jobs. It shouldn't be a stackable offense unless it's substantiated with other incidents because institutions, companies should reflect common sense and forgiveness that is necessary for all of us to get through our trials, they should not be kissing the ring finger of this diabolical vindictive and hypocritical agenda that runs all public life in modern Britain.

Absolute legend and was done up like a kipper in the same manner of Richard Keys and Andy Gray. Big Ron was of a different time, listen to old sports forums with legends such as Brian Clough and you'll realise what people say off the radar is vastly different when they're live. Yep, even now where people are holier than though (yeah right). Sadly, the game of football now has become soul less, yep, partly cause of money because players now can do what they want. They earn so much money they can be unsociable bastards with their head phones on but it's soul less also because of too much exposure. It was a great balance in the early days of Sky because we had a top game on Sunday and a team involving lesser teams on Monday. Pepper in the odd Football Special during the week. Ridiculous these days with the amount of football on - too much exposure, too regimented, too over analysed and everyone's afraid to make a mistake.

I think you'll find it doesn't reflect society as much as it reflects the media and corporations bowing the knee(figuratively and literally) to the overwhelming gods of political correctness and the very zealous priests of the left. They preach a gospel of acceptance and a false type of righteousness when in fact it is full of hate and un-forgiveness as you mentioned.

So anyway, long story short, I said to him, lovely fella by the way, and remember this is before mobile phones and all that stuff, I said, “Jim…”, ‘cus that’s what I used to call him, I said, you can’t stand there and tell me that we didn’t give 110%, and I’ve got to tell you, I was there in my tracksuit top and a pair of shorts, you know, standard kit, and remember this is in the days when managers typically wore suits… anyway, there we were, and Im telling you, he’s only gone and raised his fist, and you should have seen me, I was ready to, you know, have a go back, but anyway, there we were and it was lucky because funnily enough we were interrupted by a whole crowd of Villa fans walking towards the dugout, you know, directly towards us, and I’m thinking, you know, excuse my French, we’re looking at a, you know, a situation let’s say, and remember this is in the days before anyone came anywhere near the dugout, and I have to tell you…
