Just had the chance to ride this loop over the weekend, and it was amazing. The gravel climbs were legit, but the scenery and fresh air kept it enjoyable, and the tailwind back to the start was awesome. It felt like I was riding an e-bike at times. Thanks for creating these guides. I love exploring, and it makes it a little easier when riding somewhere new if I've already had a detailed scouting report from GBC.

On our Send It ride a year later, the weather wasn't as perfect as the area around Bixby was foggy, but no complaints as you can tell it's still very epic. Definitely feels longer than a twenty mile ride.

Wow! That looks spectacular. Had the pleasure of experiencing that sublime tailwind when doing the Big Sur marathon many moons ago, except it was a headwind lol 😊 Thanks for another great vid!

Thanks for the inspiration. I rode the Old Coast Road from Bixby to Molera as a detour on a Carmel to Cambria ride. Well worth the trip! Although it's impossible to get lost, the video was reassuring recon.

Looks like a great ride! I once started driving up it from the Bixby side but chickened out a ways in as I didn't want to end up in the ravine. Will check it out on the bike thanks to this handy guide!

Very nice video, that's a favorite ride of mine. Just a note for accuracy to help anyone who might want to seek this ride out, the start spot is Andrew Molera State Park, not 'Molena'. Regardless, great video, great channel.

would you recommend this route on a bike with 28x1.35 tires and bikepacking bags?

You're going to need gearing for sure with the heavy climbs. I also think going from north to south is a bit tougher.

The two main climbs are in the teens, but hopefully the e-bike can mitigate it. The downhill can be fast but at least it's road width.

Haines Canyon is such a wildcard under these conditions. If you have much better gearing on the MTB, that may be the choice.
