Maybe its just me, but Wonder Woman was overrated. The third act was garbage. People call it one of the best of the year but only 67% of the movie is even good. And its not like it's ground breaking. It's just a comicbook adaptation with a female lead, which we've seen before, and there are plenty of superhero films with strong female leads. People forget that a superhero film doesn't have to be based on a comic book. Star Wars is a bloody super hero film.

People are getting too eager to get rid of Leto, you've only seen him in a badly put together film in scenes that don't really matter and he has no interaction with Batman. If Heath Ledger was doing his Joker in Suicide Squad, I guarantee that people will have the same reaction. If in the next few films if they're done well and Leto still doesn't fit the part then fair enough go fucking nuts.
@NoOne-dj6rk
7 жыл бұрын
Salad Dodger I disagree. Jared Leto's joker is shitty in my opinion. The scenes that he was in were not only bad but also poorly acted. I honestly got the feeling that his joker is just someone picking up the mantle of the original joker or a previous one that was in this universe. It's only been one movie though and he wasn't in it much so ill give him another chance but, my expectations are low.
@saladdodger4722
7 жыл бұрын
If you don't like what you see fair enough but I don't feel it is fair to either love him or hate him at the minute because he hasn't had a decent chance to show us his version of the character. A lot of the things people hate like the tattoos and the more pimp like attitude can easily be altered and we've seen so little of him that it can easily be turned around with a good writer. However, I have to firmly disagree that Leto's acting was bad because it just wasn't, it is like when people were judging Affleck as Batman and saying 'I don't see Batman, I just see Affleck pretending to be Batman'. I think most people just decided before they saw him that they hated him and because there wasn't a scene to convince people otherwise they didn't change their opinion. Plus, I feel that DC needs to just stick with something and roll with it, ditching Leto and Eisenberg because some fans don't like them rather than just altering the character over time and turning it in to a character's development will be a waste of time and result in disjointed universe.

Joker doesn't need an origin story. I've always felt that Joker works best the less we know about him. In most versions, all we've ever known--all we NEED to know--is that it's technically Batman's fault he turned into the clown we see, that he fell into the vat of chemicals. That's one of the mistakes I think they made in Batman 1989, that we know way too much about Joker--we know his fucking high school major for goodness' sake! To me, that's far too much info. Even from The Killing Joke back in '88, and the original story in the 50's where his 'origin' as the Red Hood was revealed, we never actually knew his name, his history, or what he was really like before becoming the Joker. Any hints or claims as to who he is are dubious, vague or outright stated to be lies. A movie that's straight-up about Joker's origin is not only a waste of time, but if it's got nothing to do with the actual DCCU, it'll just confuse and annoy your average movie-going audiences. That particular decision makes it more likely movie goers will avoid DC in the future. Frankly I think the whole thing on every level is a stupid, useless idea.

If King Kong does definitively beat Godzilla in the movie, it will be for the same reason Batman beats Superman, kids outsmart adults in terrible Disney movies, and why every woman defeats an able bodied man in a fight on film. Because common sense tells you that the visibly larger and theoretically more powerful character would win and that's boring so they gotta flip it to defy expectations which is also boring at this point. Also, when the large character beats up the small character, it's kinda hard to watch most times.

PLEASE watch the Death Note anime, it's completely different. Light doesn't fall in love, he has a mother and sister, he's cool popular and very calm and calculated, L is calm and fights with his mind not with a gun or by shouting, there's more gods of death, the story takes years to come to a resolution, there's another power that can be given to humans to help use the death note and so much more. I've wrote that without being specific and spoiling anything but yeah the anime is bae

I'm a Death Note fan and this new movie was terrible. They took ideas from the source material but that's where it stops. I guess it's decent as a stand alone movie, but it's not a good adaptation. In 2006 a live action Death Note came out and it was far more accurate and a much better movie all around. It's probably one of the best live action anime movies out there. If you've never seen Death Note but don't like anime the movie is well worth watching.

The idea is that since Star Wars exists in a separate galaxy and a separate time period (and a fantasy setting) then the characters are not strictly human-beings as we know them. So if you were ever to meet Han Solo, who's to say he isn't like 1 inch tall? Or 20ft tall? The idea falls apart because things like AT-STs have an official size, so then we can judge the characters' size on those.
