Working for 19 years with HMC. Great and proud to be part of it for since late 2017. Started up the catering and lots of challenges came across but after all it became a smooth start. All my colleagues of all departments worked with so much passion to make it possible to have the first succesfull tests and project done and currently on its way for the next!

I sat on the top of the Rock, with my legs dangling over the edge, just a few feet from the 18 inch cannon (is it still there?) in 1971 while serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S Cone DD866. Brought back memories. By the way, cool crane!

Why build one 20,000 ton floating crane vessels when you can build TWO for twice as much! It's insane how far crane tech has come in my half century of watching the industry...It must be awesome to work on Sleipnir...Lucky men! .. Do they stay busy year round?

Nice video. Does anyone know if the Kolga is dedicated to Sleipnir? I saw a video of her towing Sleipnir into Rotterdam. Would make sense to have a dedicated tug for a vessel that size, as Sleipnir is not very handy. I imagine that Sleipnir has thrusters for dynamic positioning, which can also be used for transit, but would be slow.

Very good video, except all explanation of what these cranes are for was missing. This company must realize that PR is the beginning and end of all business, especially in such a restricted and limited market. If this video was done with participation of the owners, they would do well to rethink the PR strategies. I wish the owners and crew good luck with this marvel of technology.

Is it self propelled
@xandroneproductions9432
4 жыл бұрын
The Sleipnir is self-propelled with a minimum service speed of 10 knots, with power generated by means of dual fuel engines - MGO & LNG. Station-keeping is by means of dynamic positioning (DP3) or mooring system. The vessel has 8 thrusters.
