I recommend them, pretty easy to install. If my fridge wasn't on the fritz, I'd try to do some chilling with ice water and see how it works. Cheers!

Nice, not sure yet if I can see the results, but so far I haven't had a problem with the batches I oxygenated. I just don't like the $25 / bottle it costs. Cheers!

Another great video James! Loved the splashback definition lol. I work at a brewery in BC bartending and occasionally canning and once on a stout canning run I got covered in splashback of the brown, stouty variety. A lot of bar guests looked at me funny for the rest of the day

Nice! I think my best splashback experience comes from dumping trub on my spike fermenter and forgetting that it was pressurized to 15 psi. A bit messy. Cheers!

Think I can make a hazy fermented in the keg? My last one oxidized bad. I thought about adding a floating dip tube, doing CH's magnet dry hop method, and then when it's done put it on CO2. No O2 exposure
@PartyTimeBrewing

I think it would work. Make sure to trim the dip tune if you are going that route, but a floating dip tune will probably work as well. Not a bad idea at all! Cheers!

Nice vid! Could you please explain relationship of pilsner malt and phenolic flavor?
@PartyTimeBrewing

Looking into it a bit deeper, the Escarpment site says to avoid North American Pilsner Malt, I may have been ok with my Viking Pilsner malt. I don't really know anything other than what it says on the Escarpment site on why it brings out the phenolics. Cheers! escarpmentlabs.com/products/thiol-libre

It would be neat if you could follow up on how long these beers last in the keg and when/if they start to decline. The lack of oxidation control might not show up until month 2+ in the keg. No judgement, just an interesting data point. Also, no chug?
@PartyTimeBrewing

Depending on how long it takes to kick, I'll keep ya updated. As of today, it's been in the keg for almost 4 weeks. I can't taste the oxidation, but it looks like it has a bit. Possibly with a slightly bigger hop load it is masking the oxidized taste. I need to remember to use stuff like ascorbic acid to potentially help fight oxidation (but really just use better transfer techniques). For the chug, I have no excuse. I failed on that as taped the section last night and was in a self-imposed rush... Cheers!

I just made a hazy ipa with pilsner malt and I definitely get a highly phenolic character. I used up all the thiolized yeast cheat codes: Helio Gazer yeast, mash hopping, phantasm in the whirlpool and primary… surprised that the pilsner would be the culprit as a lot of hazy ipa recipes use pilsner malt. I wonder if the commercial breweries that do this avoid pilsner.
@PartyTimeBrewing

I'm not sure if this is an escarpment thing. I can't find anything on omega that mentions not to use pilsner. The Helio Gazer looks like a great one, I may need to sneak some into Canada! Cheers!

I haven't tried Nelson Sav hops, but I took a look at the profile. There seems to be a deep fruitier taste with the beer, but I wouldn't say white wine like at all. I'm not really useful here... Cheers!
