It's kinda weird the Bigme gets hot, while it's the Tab Mini C that has an extra GPU in it... given the relatively small price difference, I think the Tab Mini C is currently the clear choice here.

I agree. I was wondering why Bigme thought they could price it that way (who would buy it after seeing a price and specs comparison?), but then I figured it also has the front and rear cams and the fingerprint scanner. Plus it's a smaller company than Boox I think, so would probably not have the extra resources yet to price their units lower. I'm still loyal to Boox over Bigme right now, but if I did have to get a Bigme, I think I would feel a lot better having to use it if they vastly improved their UI. It's a decent working device, but a clunky and shoddy-looing UI would just make me not want to use it.

Yes , I chose the mini c , bigme 6 plus only has few advantages, 128GB storage , 6GB ram and SD card option and fingerprint reader and cameras

I went for the bigme since I actually got it for around £90 cheaper than I could get the tab mini c, and it's my first device of this kind. I'm very happy with it for what I use it for, for the time being. I think something that would benefit the bigme greatly is a more stock android-like experience, with only e ink control features over the top of that, but as it stands it's like bigme is trying to reinvent the wheel where they don't need to. I disabled a bunch of their baked in apps, but they're still shown on the home screen, and other launchers don't play nice. That said, text-based social media actually runs really well on the bigme so far, I'm actually very impressed considering the hardware limitations and such. The screen, while perhaps not as well optimised as the tab mini c, is very pretty for reading manga and using twitter. Not too concerned about the heat issue for my use case, since I'm never on it for too long anyway. I mostly use it to give my eyes and head a break from LCD and OLED panels, and whenever I have a migraine, so for me it's more of a fun device rather than for productivity.

Hi Does your device heat if we watch KZitem videos on it? Would appreciate if you could share your experience. Thanks

Well done Voija: you did the right thing by them. You're very objective in your analyses. Now, forget that, and tell us what you think about the new Supernote update!!

Thanks for the update, interesting about the heat and battery issues. I had expected the Mini C to consume more power with the GPU

Same here. But it does make sense, as Bigme has a smaller battery and the overheating strongly indicates that the cost of having such a good performance without a separate GPU, means that both the CPU and the GPU in the SoC on Bigme are working as hard as they can, and when they do so, it will be a power hungry system.

@@MyDeepGuide thanks that is a very interesting point. I am not really familiar with the hardware under the hood. Know my way around a PC. It would be interesting to see if it can be measured the load on the system between the two. If the Mini C is running with a lower load for the same output due to the GPU ? Or did i misunderstand it 😂😉 Thank you for your reply

Bigme ghosting update seems quite usable. The warming issue is worrying. I'd be interested in a comparison on voice dictation performance.

There is a new update which is made for b751c now also for s6 color plus I think. Does it make it better or the same level as b751c? (refresh setting , ghosting and speed.. )

I picked up the S6 Color +. Sigh. My main use case has been enterprise note taking. The case is worse at holding the pen than the previous model, but the overall experience is pleasant. My one Boox experience was so problematic they are on my "no buy" list. Perhaps I should revisit that.

At some point you said they had "different operating systems". I guess you just meant different skins / customizations? They are both running Android, right?

Hi I got the tab mini c but I do feel the screen is greyish 😢 comparing to mi kindle oasis well... I don't know what case scenario was made for instead of reading...

Is it just me or does the Bigme also have an inset screen vs flat profile like the Tab Mini C? Or does it just have a bigger air gap? I see a shadow. I see nothing like this on my Mini C.

seem like tab mini c play smooth in current e-ink tech.

Using the CPU alone to render that many frames per second on the Bigme is a recipe for higher power consumption and heat generation.
@MyDeepGuide

Technically, it's both the CPU and the GPU on the SoC it has, but essentially yeah. It's not the rendering that requires extra juice, but the progressive ghosting clearing that it utilizes. My suspicion is that this progressive clearing is the reason for great ghosting performance, the flickering, the heat, and the increased battery consumption.
