Saw the video, got the tee shirt, got the bike - never looked back! Amazing eats anything on A & B roads. Not in every pub carpark - Love it!

It's 2020 and I just bought a 2007 SuperDuke 990 for $5K and I absolutely LOVE it. I took 6 years off from riding but couldn't be happier to be back.

How are you liking your Super Duke? Is it everything you hoped it would be? Do you still absolutely love it?

@GhostX1200 How would you compare it to a 2009 R1 ?
@adventuresofjetandmoose

Ha ha. That's what I thought. Exilog, I had one for a year and it was really friendly to ride. Power is nice and linear. Easier for a new rider to get to grips with than a four-cylinder sports bike. One of the best bikes I've had; loved it. Though my 2006 had awful fuelling at low speeds.

I just realized after a weekend trying some ktm bikes like the new 690 duke, the rc8 (185hp) that i actually rode a superduke and found it pretty calm. I did not realized that i rode a superduke untill now :) I liked it, made some powerwheelies but didnt find it furious like the rc8.

@GhostX1200 Thanks for the reply , I am thinking of trading my 2009 R1 in for this bike and I want a bike for longer distance and comfort... when you say it is more brutal how is this so when the R1 has more power and torque. any info would be great !

@westeh its all in how the power is delivered. Most v twins have brutal low and mid range pull. Its a complete diff riding exp to an inline 4. Test ride one first. As for distance, you will suffer just as I do on my Speed Triple. Naked bikes are fun but lack of fairing takes its toll on you in colder weather or rain. Also, the SD does not have a very good tank range... if I were you Id be looking at that new kawa Z1000SX - Ninja1000 over here in Canada...

Yes, by all means. The Monster is a good bike but the riding position puts you in a semi- "Fetal Position". It leans you forward over the tank and places your legs way to the rear. The KTM is a more upright riding position and doesn't put as much strain on your lower back and wrist like the Monster does. Plus, for the price you can't beat a 990cc engine over a 696cc engine. Also, KTM's fit and finish is better. The Monster 696 still is hard to control and has a lot of vibration.

weird, I have have an '04 1000Sie monster, and find it about the most comfortable thing I've ridden. So narrow between the knees, and pretty upright (to me anyway) Maybe it's only the older ones

@papm0wl you certainly only ride bikes (IF YOU DO RIDE AT ALL) on the weekends dressed up in leather with your boyfriends. You ride bikes everyday for work etc,you would know their are heaps of nonleather options out there that are safe as full leather for street riding.

@FullBloodedHmoob You are correct for bikes 7-8 years ago....Europe has them on the ropes my friend (Triumph, Ducati, MV Agusta, Aprilia, etc.). Character over repetitiveness and what was the last major engineering (new) milestone by an Asian company? Give me five in the last 10 years.
