Been there with punctures from Hedgerows, but not far from home, looking at getting into bike packing for the first time in 2023 and I’m really enjoying your films, keep up the good work. 👍👍

Ah well, the best laid plans. Nevertheless, a nice little adventure beautifully filmed. As a bonus, at 12:18 I learned a new word: normarilly. I shall use it at every opportunity 🙂

@@Cycling366 definitely... We're planning on doing the C2C next year... Whitehaven to Sunderland, camping along the way. Never taken the bike on a train before! Any tips, we'll be coming up from South Derbyshire, possibly Derby train station. TIA....

This year I gave hammocks a go, and agree it's the most comfy night's sleep. I have the Alpkit Mora which I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of taking the plunge.

Nice! Alpkit stuff is always good. I use the Alpkit bivvy bags and they’re ace.

Shame about the punctures Tom. Do you carry a puncture repair kit as well as spare tubes? I remember going through a spell of getting punctures for the same reason, so I changed my tyres to Marathon Plus, and I haven’t had the same problem since. Love the idea of the hammock. I presume you knew you had a good forecast! Great video. Thanks for sharing.

Have used various versions of Schwalbe Marathons for years. Have not had a road or gravel puncture in thousands of miles.

Cheers Graham, until recently I always carried a repair kit too but it’s something I regularly forget nowadays! Got a new one in the saddle bag now though 👍 I always check the weather with a hammock but a tarp may be in order soon.

I’ve used Schwalbe marathons on road tours but they’re not great for off-roading really. Great tyres though

tubeless is really good for that type of puncture.
