Terrific video! Some more tips from an experienced rack user. At busy transit centers, one may have to exit from the rear door. In these scenarios, before exiting the rear, I always give the driver a "thank you Driver" and "I'm grabbing a bike" and make sure they wave or verbally acknowledge it. While removing my bike from the rack, I make sure to hold my pannier bag or place it right at my feet, rather than place it on the sidewalk. You never know, someone may grab and run off with it. Lastly, like the video says, keep a close eye on the bike and sit where you can see it at all times. A couple of weeks ago at the Kent Transit center, a man jumped on the rack and tried to remove my bike. Fortunately, a security guard and I approached the man and he gave up. Close call. That's rare. Most of the time it's a great ride and un-eventful. Have fun and be safe.

@AfroDude293 My bike is only 27 lbs so I most often place it in the front as Metro suggests so it's most visible to the driver and easier to place and remove. On some of the racks, this front position has the wheel lock facing the roadway however, so in those cases I use the middle slot so I can stay on the sidewalk side. Either way, I haven't seen any enforcement on this. I comes down to what works best for you.

Any videos out there showing how to remove a bike from the rack if another bike is in front of it?

Good question! I haven't seen one, but there should be, it can be a struggle. Here's what _I_ do - i'm no expert, but have loaded and unloaded many bikes, of all kinds. * If bike is facing curb side, I stand in front of the front wheel, release and lower the swing-arm, then clumsily pull my bike straight forward, holding the handlebar and/or the fork, kinda rolling it on the wheel channels, lower the front wheel to the street/curb, keep pulling till the rear wheel drops off in a (sometimes) graceful and controlled manner. * If the bike is facing traffic, use extra caution, keep an eye on oncoming vehicles, wait till it's clear before stepping to the side to lower the swing-arm. If all clear and safe, proceed the same. If not, you can move to the back of the bike and pull it backwards towards the curb: the front wheel might wander between the wheel channels, so it takes a bit of finesse. I can help to ask a bystander to give you a hand! I've even had a driver kindly get out and help when my handlebar & bags got all tangled up with another bike. * You can practice ahead of time: either ask a driver at a terminus stop while they're waiting, they might let you try it out, or check kingcounty.gov/en/dept/metro/rider-tools/bikes-and-transit/how-to-load for locations around the greater seattle with stationary racks we can use to practice.

and there's another video on how to load a bike in the middle rack: looks like the "twisting movement" could work in reverse as well... kzitem.info/news/bejne/lX572JiKfZqqgZw
