if you told your girlfriend , that when you started dating, you also went on a date with a coworker, who it didnt work out with, but then a while later told your girlfriend that same coworker girl asked you out again, your girlfriend would be getting insecure. 1-she knows there is a history, 2-she knows you both work together which opens room for interaction & situations to arise.

Ok, first, this photo is art. Hats off. But I have a question, and, yes, I’m a LAAAAYYYDEE! In the story about the work guy asking her out, I would have also thought it was correct to tell BF. Because if I don’t and he finds out, then it looks like I was hiding something. But since I’m not hiding anything and there’s some history there, I’d make sure BF was up to speed because this might not be the end of it. Can some fellas jump in and explain if I’m off on that? I will say, I wouldn’t have waited so long to tell him I’d briefly dated a coworker in the first place and, to me, that’s where she messed up.
@a_alla_quarta9294

I understand why you may be puzzled, but if someone hits on you and you don't care about it, you don't need to tell your boyfriend. If you do, likely you won't come across as someone who's being honest to her partner. It just looks like you're giving relevance to the other guy approaching you. It's like you're saying "I need to tell you this, because it matters". So, whenever a guy you don't care about asks you out, don't tell your boyfriend. If he ever finds out, just answer the truth: "I declined the invitation, and I didn't feel the need to tell you just because it didn't matter to me". At least that's how I would expect my GF to behave. I hope that's helpful to the good LAAAYYYDEEEs out there!
@83gemm
2 жыл бұрын
@@a_alla_quarta9294 Glad I came across this because I would have literally NEVER thought of it that way. In general, yes, no need to relate, but because she had dated and kissed him, I thought that meant it does matter BECAUSE she turned him down. So it’s not so much relating the importance of the guy asking her out, but that she’s not interested. Follow up question: if it’s a really funny story about a guy asking me out badly, is it ok to share that in a, “Oh my gosh, the most hilarious thing happened today!” kind of way or is a blanket rule of Don’t Tell?
@westGUA
2 жыл бұрын
@@83gemm honestly it comes down to knowing your partner, if you know they can handle you being approached by other men then it's fine, they probably dont have the reaction of being insecure. If you know they can't handle that type of info I would not share that with them, or atleast not all the details. Guess this works for both bf/gf, in my opinion.

I have an entirely different way of dealing with situations like this. I call it "Not giving a F***". In relationships, humans test each others egos and security. This woman was (consciously or unconsiously) testing her boyfriend's confidence and security in their relationship. This was a common event in my previous relationship, everybody and their Dad wanted to date, jack-off to or otherwise have their way with my girlfriend, to the point of clandestinely confessing their "love" of her to me themselves. She had a co-worker who nearly on a weekly basis made a pass at her. All of her "close friends" were guys bending over backwards to simp over her. She'd tell me about all of it, usually quite annoyed. I didn't give a F***, and guess what? She was annoyed I didn't care and that I would tell her that I trusted her. That annoyed her too. She wanted the jealousy, because most of her previous boyfriends would get jealous. In the end, it gave me the benefits. I wasn't threatened, so she eventually stopped complaining about all of the "unwanted" attention, and we moved on. I eventually broke it off because she was a glutton for attention, and I just didn't have the energy to constantly pander to her emotional needs. However, it turns out that the best move when someone is using subtlety, evasiveness and the whole "catch me before I leave you" game, is to not play it and realize you're the one being tested, and you need to stand your ground and concern yourself with more important things.

I think Bills problem with the first story is, that he has (fortunately) no real experiance with online dating and therefore doesn't understand certain problems that come with it. I totally get the initial problem of the author but i think the match was indeed the woman on the picture but as Bill said, she probably took the picture a while back when she thought she looked best and now she is insecure because she gained a few pounds in the meanwhile or wears her hair completely different or because she wears her make up not as heavy every day as on the picture and thatswhy she's a bit shy. Stuff that probably wouldn't matter as much in a long run anyway. What wondered me is, that neither he nor she ever seemed to talk about meeting and it seemed as if they at least texted a few weeks so far. If those two are that courious about each other than they should just meet up and find out... isn't that the point of online dating anyway? If she's a scammer, she wouldn't come and he would know it or someone else would come and he would know it that way. besides, I never encountered an onlinedating- scammer who invested that much time and effort in scamming one person. Either the scammer would have to be realy freaking good or the author must be dumb as a rock and I don't think either of it is the case here.

First story - You never talk to someone for 3 months before some sort of video chat or meet up. Maybe a week max if you're hitting it off. Girls love validation and might not even be on a dating site to date. They just want attention. Or she's homely AF and just wants to feel like she has a boyfriend for as long as she can before he figures it out she fell out of the ugly tree. And yeah could be a dude too. Second story - Chick had major red flags. I'd dump HER.
