Man, Billy Burr is so consistent. Back then his jokes and delivery, top notch. Louis, definitely improved over time. Louis, was like "hey, I got some jokes, wanna hear some jokes?.... Yeah but there are no prizes for being the quickest to peak in delivery, style and humour. Louis CK kept working and when he finally reached his full potential, he left Burr far behind. It doesn't matter that it took him a bit more time.
@quirkypurple
3 жыл бұрын
@@elsamsung1133 I don't think he left Burr far behind. I think both Burr and CK are genius story tellers. I'm dying to hear CK do a podcast himself. Not like as a guest or on Maron or JRE. (Well would love if he spoke to joe) but proper Louis internal monologues. Burr is a champion. And CK is a legend
@elsamsung1133
3 жыл бұрын
@@quirkypurple Have to disagree. Burr's delivery puts me off after about 5 minutes. And his subject matter is too preachy and off-putting. Plus he has a limited repertoire of 'punchline underscoring' (not sure how else to reference that) - whereas Louis CK will suddenly have you laughing hysterically but without you (always) predicting when the joke would come or 'how' the funny part would be delivered. It's very natural and he never sounds bored or tired. Burr often does and that's likely due to his chosen 'shouty' style.
@quirkypurple
3 жыл бұрын
@@elsamsung1133 @El Samsung I disagree. I used to kind of have your view points. There was a time when I wasn't much of a Burr fan. I dont think he's any more preachy than Dave Chapelle, Ricky Gervais or Chris Rock or even CK. It's an angry guy letting off steam. And sometimes what he says is kind ignorant, which he will self-deprecate and acknowledge.But what he's good at is making an audience come around to ideas that seem a little controversial.. its bringing the audience to that line.. and taking them over it. And yes. They have different styles! Thats what makes stand up great. Thats why I like both of them! Because they are two of the best comics today! Burr is a comic's comic. The respect he has among other commedians is great. Fortunately for me, I can enjoy both. Because I appreciate their differences. And, I got to see Louis CK live! I'll catch Burr nex time he comes to Ireland (hopefully). And.. if you follow the conversations on podcasts by comics Burr is considered the best all the time by the likes of Patrice O Neil, Joe Rogan, Tom Segura, Bert Kreischer, Chappelle, Joey Diaz. He's part of the comedy store elite. Hes a new special nearly every year. The consistency is great. His animated show F Is For Family is great.

This guy is a natural comic.
