I really love this performance, as well as the other song you have posted from this show "Ventura". They are among my favorite Bill Frisell performances on KZitem. Are there any more videos posted from this show in Rochester? I would love to see this entire show. I have many of his recordings, and they all have some magical moments. But there is an intangible element to his live performances that I feel goes beyond the studio recordings. Especially from this era!

I would just say that the set of musical traditions Frisell is drawing from here is a set that Santana has also used a lot. Bringing a jazz feel to a pop song without trying to turn it into full-blown jazz (whatever that is any more).
