I was over working in Aintree on the industrial estate that day . Having come over that day from Manchester , I gathered with a group of passionate Scousers to watch that game . Being born in Nottingham , my heart was veering towards the other side of the sea of red flags , but I was taken in by the Liverpool crowd and I appreciated that so much .We watched the story unfold , they called it fighting at first , but once realisation set in , I could see hearts sinking and tears flowing . I found out a few months later that a work colleague had a son in Hospital , in West Yorkshire who was left in a coma after being crushed . I watched this man battle for years afterwards , going through both British and European Courts to have the feeding tube removed from his son , allowing him to have a dignified end to his short and tragic life. When his family visited at the hospital , they were met with protestors outside the hospital who were against what they were fighting for , and through all of this , this dad remained dignified and would not give up the fight . Whenever Hillsborough is mentioned , this is the man I think of first , a man who always will have my respect .
