@@JK-br1mu Hey remember when Magic said the piston champ was weak because they didn't beat a healthy celtics team. Hahaha keep in mind rockets didn't have their entire starting line for the entire 1986 playoff run. Hakeem beat the 86 Lakers in a gentleman sweep without their starting PG. While the Lakers had Magic Johnson at pg. Funny Magic couldn't take advantage of this. The 1986 Celtics had to resort to dirty play to get past Hakeem. Let that sink in for a second. Bird had the ref (yes the refs were clearing helping the celtics), home court advantage, and the superteam. Yet celtics still had to resort to dirty plays against Ralph to take him out of the game in order to "beat Hakeem". Funny people give LeBron a hard time for a 8 pt finals game. When Bird has two 8 pt finals game. There's a reason bird didn't win every FMVP. Most people don't realize the celtics (during Bird era) don't have a winning record against Lakers, 76ers, and Pistons in the playoffs.

Mathew Phillip Prater: I agree. Lambeer wasn't a bully just for the joy of it. He had a plan, the whole team had a plan. The Piston's had one super star in Isiah Thomas, The rest of the guys at best were a sixth man on any other team. But Daily got them to play within the 80's rules in a way that other teams couldn't adjust to. Watch these videos about Lambeer, but change the focus to McHale or Oakley as the bad guy then check out what you see. Those trips, the elbows, the cheap shots, other teams and players are doing them too. Lambeer wasn't a unicorn in that regard. What was different about Lambeer is he didn't deny what he was doing. Also remember that this was a time of heavy branding in the NBA to gain audience: LA had "Show Time" (like no one else had ever run a fast break or a behind the back pass); Boston had "Legacy": Chicago had Air Jordan and Detroit got the "Bad Boyz". Detroit played to what the marketing said they were. I saw a bunch of none Piston players on the floor whining about the foul they just received. I didn't see anyone carried off the floor or a busted arm or leg limping away. Jordan complaining is just that: Jordan complaining. In era, remember that Jordan complained about his own team mates, so why is him complaining about his opponents so significant. By the way, Jordan is not the GOAT, Wilt is. The Pistons in era played to take you out of your game better than what the other teams could conceive of doing. And it worked for them.

He was a glamorized PF. Center was never really his spot they just went to him there by contrition. He had virtually no low post game at all.

@@joeyc7105 he deserved it.. law of physics , he is tall and heavy, what do u expect inside the paint,, the pushing and arm lockings were normal back then, and he was the brick wall, standing there, foricng opposing players to stop or minimize their penetration, then John Sally will do the blocking,

@@joeyc7105 you cam call him anything, but the fact they destroyed the bulls big time, thats why in the 90s Stern change the rules, favoring the bulls, the only thing that hurt tne pistons was they get old in the 90s , lol

All out wars with the Celtics and Bulls back then. Michael Jordan gave the Pistons credit for turning him into a stone cold killer in the 90s.
