I've been a big fan of Colbert but this "interview" with Bill Maher has got to be the worst episode I've watched so far. Just when Maher is starting off on an explanation, Colbert interrupts him and derails him with some funny aside or antics. After a while you get really irritated. Does Colbert want Maher to speak at all? It appears not. Why invite him to be a guest on the show then? Better manners please, Colbert.

***** As do I, as the name would imply. Frankly, I totally understand being critical of Islam as a religious concept. On the other hand, I believe these criticisms need to come along with solutions and and resolutions to the current problems. Merely acknowledging the moral issues in Quran text seems to do little more than fuel discriminatory actions in the individuals in the population that are already bigoted. Not to mention, people draw illogical conclusions about the application of ancient text in their daily lives. Where some see 'murder infidels' others seem to see 'show love.' Ultimately people use their religious perspectives to magnify their own, preconceived societal values and beliefs.

Colbert throws bones to the 'other' side better than anyone in this job. Probably because he genuinely seems to be a guy that attempts to understand rather than polarize.

Stephen Colbert interrupts many times..... the conversation is bumpy and unpleasant. Bill Maher is, in my opinion, a more sincere and honest person than Stephen Colbert.

I also found it frustrating that Colbert kept interrupting. It seemed difficult for Maher to get a full sentence in let alone an opinion. I'm a fan of Colbert though, just think he is used to interviewing politicians. Got to fight to get a word in edgewise. But this shouldn't mean you should steamroll your guest everytime..

+Str8Murder People defending Bill tend to categorize his asshole behavior as honesty, instead of it really being that he's just a prick.

+aywancfc ....nah, but he is an asshole, it's kind of his only shtick. being smart shouldn't effect the way you treat people. and don't act like he hasn't gotten all bent outta shape over someone else's opinion. colbert poked funny and Maher tried to get visceral.

Strikerage I'm "defending him" because everything you said was wrong. There is opinion informed by fact, and then there is opinion informed by..well I don't know...you tell me what it is you thought you knew.

Strikerage another question: do you always project your personal weaknesses on to other people? Your comment, "try to think like an individual," is completely hypocritical considering that you were the one 'dodo-ing' off the cliff by jumping on the hate-for-bill train.

Horrible segment. Each one of them is scared to death the other might be funnier than they are. So they are both overwrought and their egos get in the way. Colbert is the most nervous of the two.

Colbert is really good at making you run around inside your own head for a minute or two! He's a master at it.

Bill is totally baked in this interview. I'm surprised no one comments on how "stoned" Bill Maher looks and acts in these interviews, in the comments below.

+David Roberts You think Bill Maher is a great man? He's a brilliant comedian, but a great man is a stretch. He consistently comes across as a gigantic asshole. Stephen however seems to be a genuinely good person.

Bill can't outwit Stephen, and I think Bill knows that. Bill did make some snide remarks, but that's his MO.
