I was lucky enough to have a seminar with him once as a young child. I'm just as impressed with him now as I was then. I noticed his stance, posture, hand positioning, and general approach is much like that of point fighter even when he's in the kickboxing ring. For instance, he fights mainly with his front foot and front hand the way point fighters do. And he was a successful point fighter before he became successful kickboxer. His style reminds me of Pedro Xavier an enormously successful point fighter in the 90's.

I have found that when striking uniformly with pulling back your punch when done striking at the exact moment, when you should, there is a natural movement of the forward strike and backward pull back to the original position. They will line up and all what goes into the movement of the strike and pulling back of the strike. The difficulty is to be prepared to allow your striking hand to spring back to the same location where it left from in less then a second after you strike. The strike causes a reaction to pull back right away. If you don't do this you are not properly reset to strike again. A lot of boxers do this and leave their arm hanging out of position and do not reset fast enough to strike again and are not in a defence posistion to protect themselves from a counter strike. .

Good tip but there are times when you WOULD move y our shoulder just to get the other guy to react...but you're not throwing your punch or kick till AFTER he's committed. Just don't suddenly drop the shoulder every time. Advice from an ex-world champion kickboxer. Priceless. Bill is one of the few ex- champions of his calibre willing to give his time to teach (even if it is income). Chick Norris doesn't. Actually, I think he's the only one that never did. All the other "legends" did and still do today.

Bill Wallace is certainly one of the greats, but at 5:00 he is demonstrating a backfist, not a jab. Also, in the beginning he says he'd rather be quick than fast. Quick is the amount of time and effort it takes to reach maximum speed; fast is WHAT that maximum speed IS! Not either one, but BOTH together is part of athletic superiority!

Getting him to compare on the first UFC was inspired. Of course, it's possible that he knew what was going to go down and was faking his suprise but every time he started discussing the superiority of someone's striking ability, they got taken down and submitted.

There is no need to go any further with you because you just don't know. Just for further reference my instructor Buck Sam Kong is Real and He fought Bruce and I asked him how was he and he said very fast very fast. Everyone who studies the martial arts do not have to fight in the ring their are plenty of great fighters who will never fight in the ring. and if you do not know that then go ask some of the masters from some of the dojos. fighting in the ring is only part of it.

My dad used to box professionally and from what little I know is that all boxers move while jabbing to create openings and will throw in combinations. Believe me they will find an opening as they study what your style is and I've never saw a boxer as describes as this guy stated... I know he's just trying to make a point but be honest about another sport where movement is key.
