In just a good time in general I was in Irving Texas then...

So sorry for your loss. I lost my sis 4 years ago today, so I understand how you feel. On here listening to some of the music we loved including Billy, and just felt compelled to comment on your post. We used to drive around in her Camaro and blast him on cassette. LOL. We got to see him live a while back and he sounded incredible, we had so much fun. We will always have these great songs to remind us of those dear to our hearts that are no longer with us.

Astonished that he sounds just like he did on the album back in '81, 33 years ago. His kind of vocal range is the toughest to maintain all these years. Man's a monster! Rock on, Billy.

Always appeared to me that he was highly appreciated, respected, and admired. I remember back in the day when Howard Stern was still in DC on DC101, he spun (yep, 'spun'!) "In The Dark" and then said "Robin, that is so great, I think we should play it again!" to which Robin replied "Yes Howard, I think you should!". First, and only time I have ever heard a radio station play a song twice in a row. Billy Squier was huge. He was was talked about in all parts of rock, and most definitely in the guitar world (heavy Page influence). Why is he not more talked about? My theory is that he hit the scene so hard with his string of hits in a short time, that it was very difficult to sustain. It was also a time when disco was still big, and pop music was becoming very 'electronica'. And then you have Billy being a very raw (like Zepp) rock 'n roll performer. He was a juggernaut for a stretch there though.

To be able to enrapt an audience with just a guitar, a voice and mojo is some kind of deep black magic. Billy still has the gift.
