Remember the time we were both eye to eye And we both knew the reasons why It seemed like we faced the world on our own Before we collide can we just take a moment Collecting reflections of this And remember the paths that we chose Spring lied to us this year again I can't stand to face the fear again But you could always laugh about those things It's enough to make a man feel sour Burning minutes every day by the hour Just to end up gone like everything else Let go of the pain and hold onto the rhythm It's consciously held back in you You're drowning a sorrow that's long been at rest The past is a hell, it can creep up inside you So let me remind you of this It's the reason your troubles exist Spring lied to us again this year And still I can't stand to face the fear Will you always laugh about those things? It's enough to make a man stay humble Every day is just a new chance to stumble Just to end up gone like everything else If ever a time comes around in the wheel To replace where we stand side by side We'll be ready and able to fly Away from the mire And the senseless decisions of somebody's wasted desire Through the smoke and the wind and the fire Spring lied to us this year again I can't stand to face the fear again But you could always laugh about those things It's enough to make a man feel sour Burning minutes every day by the hour Just to end up gone like everything else

This song haunts me; I can't get enough of it. Sometimes I don't let myself OD on a song I really love, but this one I am over indulging in for sure, listening to it over and over, even learning to play (the verse and chorus) on guitar. I was lucky to get to see you guys in LA last week. The entire band was top notch, which I expected, but the singing just blew me away. I'm a bluegrass fan and it wasn't my usual crowd, but so worth it to see you and your band play. Even the long drive in LA traffic didn't deter me. One of the best shows I've seen and I see a ton of live shows.

But also check out Philip Sayce, dudes insane, by far the best blues guitarist walking and very possibly, the most talented guitarist walking in general at the moment. Billy, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for this. I recently had a medical emergency. I collapsed and stopped breathing. I was revived and admitted to the ICU with acute respiratory failure, sepsis, aspiration pneumonia, Flu and Pneumonia, but oh boy the reason I'm here now goes so much deeper. I was hiding. And now I'm exposed, vulnerable. I'm trying so hard to overcome the hell of my past. I can't stop crying, wondering what I'm still doing here. I almost wanted that release. Maybe I'm rambling, I just need to get this out somehow. If I am going to be around, I want a more fulfilling existence. I know I created my troubles, that's why they exist, and the reality is, I either overcome them, or I don't. I have a long road ahead of me. I've been in the hospital for 23 days, crawling in my skin for most of it. Probably another 21 more or so. I'm going to see you live one day though and it's going to be amazing. For anyone who listened, thank you, and I truly hope you have the happiness, or will, that we're all searching for.
