My love to this man. His humour was the best. Nobody can replace him. Just wish his humour was still around with all these sensitive people moaning all the time.

The good ol NZ State Houses that were built after WW2. Sad to see the NZ Government knocking them all down. I grew up in one and my parents eventually brought it in the 90s.

I've always dreamt of owning one of these old state houses, but the way things are going by the time I'm actually in a position to do so they'll probably all have been torn down and replaced with bland, soulless rubbish.

Takes me back to being a kid in the 70/80’s. There weren’t any other Maori comedians being broadcast on tv then. Virtually no representation at all. Whilst I enjoyed the laid back, non pretentious character he played, I couldn’t help but think the only reason he was ‘acceptable’ on very white New Zealand tv screens was because he played into a racist stereotype of an illiterate, dumb, likeable & non threatening Maori. It’s a reflection not of him but of New Zealand society back then. He was extremely successful personally and made lots of money so the last laugh was on the racists.

Yes, the days before Stephen Tindall (The Warehouse) started importing a lot of cheap rubbish from china. A decent microwave would set you back somewhere around $1200 - 1500. The trouble now is that $54 microwave is chinese junk and won't last - but instead of getting it repaired, the owner will simply throw it out and buy another. This has resulted in much more of a throw-away society which isn't a good thing.
