this video whips so much ass. it is very cool that you cared enough to break down not just the song, but also the DADGAD (and variants) backbone that supports the entire bilmuri catalog

I’m obsessed with how much harmonic content Bilmuri has extracted out of DADGAD without falling into the ‘open tuning’ trap. I intend to make a more in depth video about it further down the line, because it really is a fantastic song writing tool!

@@RajorshiBhattacharyyaI just subscribed bc I’ll be looking forward to that too. Your ear is probably better than mine but I think I was able to pick up that he uses a similar tuning on a 7 string for Drunk Enough, I’d like to test that out myself but I don’t have a 7 string 😂

All the voicings for DADGAD can be played in drop C. All you have to do is move the positions of your notes in the strings 6,5,4 and 3 in DADGAD up 2 semi tones in Drop C, and you got the same chords.

Ahhh just tell me the voicings dude! Chorus chords it’s difficult to tell where you’re letting opens ring and where you’re fretting. For example, on the Bm, are you fretting notes on the top 4 strings and letting the bottom 2 ring out? Or are you also letting 4th string D ring out and/or muting 5th string A?
@RajorshiBhattacharyya
5 ай бұрын
From 6 to 1: 9-9-0-7-0-0 for B minor From 6 to 1: 7-7-0-6-0-0 for A major I’m not muting any strings. Let em all ring out for this one. In some other songs, he does mute the 4th string. Hope that helps!
