Appreciate you and this video. Definitely made this a easier install. Didn’t think about the EGR plug valve already deleted so it worked out perfectly

Thank you! This was a super helpful video! I've installed a WB into a 4cyl before and only had one bank to work with. Is there a preferred method with a V8? Is a dual bank (2 sensors) necessary or can you get an accurate reading from a single bank. I would prefer to ditch the O2 and just use the WB sensor/s if possible for closed loop operation. Thank you.

On a two bank engine that came equipped with dual narrowband sensors, like a fox body, I like to maintain both factory sensors in the stock locations. Then add an additional bung on the driver side exhaust for a single wideband sensor. At idle and cruise, you will be able to monitor the two factory sensors in datalogs to generally determine the health of the engine and any bank to bank discrepancies in fuel trims due to differences in compression, port volume, etc. Based on that, you’ll be able to tel if one bank is slightly richer or leaner than the other, pre-correction. Then when tuning the full throttle stuff, I tune accordingly for the leaner bank. If you really want to run a dual wide and you certainly can. But in order to log both channels on a stock computer deal, you would have to buy something like a super logger or a data Q.

I believe I asked this once before but didn't follow up. I can record my Innovate boost/rpm and wide band gauge using a PL-1 recorder. However, I'd like to see a MAP reading on the QH. I'm using CDAN4 strategy and since the WB is going through the PFE, the only other spare sensor I can access is the trans temp sensor. I would think I can verify what (GM style MAP) voltage/pressure relates to a temperature reading. Therefore, when I see 150* on the trans-temp, I know that's 1 volt to whatever pressure that is. I know trans temp can effect converter lockup but I think I can change or turn that off while testing or racing. Do you think that's doable?

Let me take a look at the cdan4 strategy in terms of the temperature based logic. I agree, as long as the tune can be modified to prevent any issues, you could use that input for a map sensor. There are a bunch of map sensors out there, but due to the prevalence of standalone efi systems, most of them publish their voltage/kpa data as to allow custom tuning applications.

@@LeechMotorsports My info shows me that the trans temp/voltage is the same as the ECT and ACT. I have somewhere in my notes the kpa/voltage for the 3 bar GM MAP. I would love to use the vapor purge flow valve which I think is an input but I don't see access to it in the strategy.

I have an EEC-IV, 92 Tbird AOD that did not come with EGR originally. There is no harness in the engine bay. I found the harness for the computer, but there is no wire in pin 27. I added the yellow 0-5V analog output from my MTX-L to a pin into 27. I configured BE as you did, disabled the EGR ( In mine there is only a self test equipment present, says 2=off). It is reading 11.97 all the time regardless of what the wideband is reading. Any ideas if the ECM doesn't support this method if it originally did not come equipped with egr and I had to add the pin?

What ECU is in the car, and what strategy are you running?
