After demodifying this former golden screwdriver expert's playtoy, the flagship Cybernet 134 radio is now back working & restored to how it should be......however....when crystal filters have been added I do try & retain them if the modification is working properly. In this case I discovered during this test that the receive was 'lopsided'. I'd noticed this on the test gear but felt there was enough latitude for normal operation. In fact, by the time Mr Chippie got to the 5-mile point for a low power (400mW) test, I'd had to switch the delta tune to it's minus position to compensate. In this instance it's time the wrong/duff crystal filter was removed & replaced with the factory standard ceramic filter.
This is why we do these tests; not everything can be proved on the test gear....like operating in a real environment.
