Yes "PO" and "OPO" is a sign of respect. It is mostly used when the person we were talking to was older or in higher position than us however the rules are not strict, it's really up to a person if they want to use it to older, younger, same age etc. Most of the Filipinos are just used to saying it since we were thought from childhood & it is actually two things, 'Respect the Elders' and 'Look back where you came from and give back'. The host is correct, BINI is respectful and nice young ladies. They deserved all the recognition.

Wow finally on this interview with Bini 😊 "Ng" is pronounced as "NANG" which means "of" "Ang" is pronounced as "ANG" which means "the" "Hugot" means a feeling you have unleased that was buried for a long time. Just something like that 😅. So the title "Ang mga hugot sa buhay ng Bini" means "The feelings to be unleased in the lives of Bini". "buhay" means life, "mga" pronounced as "MA-NGA" is a word that indicates a noun is to be in plural form so "feelings"was used with "s". "sa" means "in" Regarding "po", it signifies respect that is why whenever we add "po" in our conversations, we just treat the person we are talking with with respect especially if they are an elderly person. That is the beauty of the Filipino language 😊. Karen Davila is a long time journalist and a news broadcaster in ABS CBN and her experience pulled off a great interview with Bini 😊 There is recent collab of SB19 and Bini and with other Filipino artists for an MV commercial of a supermarket chain in the Philippines if you want to check it out too. The title is "Puregold nasa atin ang panalo" 😊

Hey, Pierre! I’m so late to this so idk if you’ll even see my comment but I just wanted to appreciate you. Out of all of the Bini reactions, yours is my definite favorite. You are always respectful the girls and of our culture, your sincerity radiates from the screen. Locals are so, so very proud of Bini-that we have artists that can hold their own on the world stage and it’s so heartwarming that someone from outside our culture can recognize that, too. You seem like such a lovely person. Thank you for sharing yourself with us! I wish you happiness and health always. Let’s love Bini together for a long time! Take care, Pierre ❤

We don't pronounce Ng as uhng like they do in, like, vietnamese or chinese surnames. It's "nang". When it is spelled "ng" it means "of", when spelled "nang" it means "that is". "Ang" is a different word altogether, it means "the". In the Filipino Alphabet, Ng is a single letter by itself, as an artifact of our pre-colonial writing systems.

"Ang" usually means "the", "ng" is pronounced "nang" and usually means "of" the title of the video literally translates to "The Struggles in the Life of Bini" or basically "Bini's Struggles in Life" Here's a more exact translation: ang = the mga (pronounced ma-nga) hugot = it's like a slang, hugot literally means "pull out" but is commonly used as a slang for "struggles" or some deep experience in life. sa buhay = in the life ng bini = of Bini

To add context to what Maloi said about thier parent company being shut down om 2020, that6 shut down actually had nothing to do with the usual pandemic shut down. You see, ABS CBN is one of the biggest, if not the biggest media conglomerate in the Philippines with their news organization being one of the biggest, if not the biggest in the country. They hurt the previous administration's feelings for doing the bare minimum of journalism and so the renewal of their broadcasting rights were denied wholesale (by Congress and then the Supreme Court. Their shutdown in 2020 was unprecedented and unthinkable and thought of as impossible at the time. Think of it like if the US government shut down any of the ABC/CBS/NBC in the USA or the BBC in the UK. To this day, ABS-CBN is still off the air and only exist online on youtube, etc and only broadcasting in their international oriented channels. Really gives new meaning to their moniker of "The Nation's Girl Group". They were also the headliner of this year's Philippine Independence Day official celebrations by the current government (that unfortunately had to be cut down because of some unruly Blooms).
