We've all had moments of awkward empathetic conversation. For example... maybe your friend's dog just passed away and you don't know how to comfort them... Maybe a friend says they are having a bipolar episode and life is shit... Rattling off a generic platitude like “that must suck” or “thoughts and prayers” isn't always the best way to go.
