No joke, I was looking for a bouncy mattress to improve my horizontal dance routine because my memory foam was just a bit too placid and slightly uncomfortable when my GF is in the canine position, and I found your review that talked about the same thing. Nice. I will do more research on natural latex mattresses.

Nice! I'm glad I was able to help. I think you would find this table helpful - naplab.com/tools/table-tool/ It's got every mattress we've tested to date. You can sort by sex score and bounce and see exactly who is best / worst.

We bought a birch 2 years ago. It was great at first but after 6 months started sagging. It got worse then we got warranty replacement . This was like the first one, but then started sagging currently awaiting our 2nd warranty replacement and my back hurts. My wife calls them each day a couple of times and it costs a lot of time and energy. Just something to consider.

What type of frame and foundation are you using? For a mattress, especially a latex mattress, to sag within 6 months is incredibly rare. Generally, the only time something like this happens is when the frame and/or foundation is not providing sufficient support for the mattress.

@@NapLabReviews I am using a tempurpedic foundation that I bought for my prior mattress.

@@druegeme If it's fairly new then that should be providing proper support. However, as they age a foundation can fail to provide proper support. It may be something worth considering.

So I got my Birch, been on it for a few nights now. I LOVE it. You were right...just the right amount softer than the Twilight core model. It's like a soft cradle and hug. I love how responsive it is. Not heaps more responsive than the twilight. Very similar. Sleeping on latex is well, yeah not that much different than foam, but not quite the same. It's as if you were sleeping on a water bed but the water was a supportive and responsive solid gel. I'm now converted and so so sooooo happy I made this choice. The latex has enough give (along with the cotton and wool top) that the pressure relief is outstanding, especially as a 205lbs side sleeper with an athletic build. Back sleeping is far superior even to the Twilight. Noticed on your bounce test that it has the most responsiveness, but I didn't feel it was too crazy. Edge was great but because the latex has such awesome give when you put your knee or butt on the bed I do notice you have to sit right on the edge for it to be great. If you sit a bit further in (and you weight like I do) your butt sinks a bit. In that regard the twilight was a bit better...but not enough to even come close to how awesome the Birch is. I honestly look forward to going to bed and don't want to get up in the morning. As my Muscle Activation therapist said, your body should conform to the environment, not the environment to you body. Yes, to a point I guess. It's that perfect mix between a soft cradle and yet pushing back against body for fantastic support. And it's great to know the latex will last. Saw these 2 guys who have a youtube channel giving the ins and outs of what makes a good mattress and they were right, less is more. For them the best set up with pocketed coils with a layer of latex. Lastly I was worried that at 205lbs the 2" of latex would not be enough and I'd feel the coils. Pfft, bitch, uh...birch please! Never feel a thing. Have to also say I love the smell of it out of the box. Has this earthy natural smell. Solid purchase and yeah, if it was in a show room for sure it would be around 4k. Thanks for answering all my question before. The research was tedious, time consuming and exhausting...but glad I did it. Highly recommend this bed.

If the birch is a 7, putting the birch mattress topper on top would make it what...6 or 5.5? I still love my birch but I'm curious about the topper to make it a touch softer. Cheers

I've not tested the Birch topper, so I cannot say for sure. But in general, a topper will typically increase the softness by 1-1.5 points on our scale, so it should drop it into that 5.5-6 range for you.
