I am just guessing, but it seems to be a standard procedure after an impact with birds in order not to damage further components of the aircraft/wings.

I assume that because of the bird strike, technicians have to check the flaps for damage before they can be retracted. Similar to after a landing in icy conditions. The plane was actually scheduled for a flight to England after landing, but is still on the ground in Amsterdam for more than 59 hours.
