The Western Bristlebird is a shy and elusive bird found in the coastal heathlands of southwestern Western Australia. With a population thought to be well below 1,000, they are considered an endangered species. If you're lucky, you might hear their distinctive high-pitched melodious song, a sound that is, sadly, at risk of, being lost forever.
