This will never, ever get old. The fact it's still here 18 years later. About as old as YT itself. I feel rather ancient now. But in a good way. Perhaps someone who is old enough can tell us what life was like before these weird creatures invaded in 1962. My parents refuse, and always change the subject :(
@Jazzinthedark84
5 ай бұрын
My parents are just confused, it's very sad. They keep insisting that "there were always birds, they've just always been around and it's ridiculous to suggest otherwise". The fact is that they were too young in 1962 to remember much beforehand, so they've convinced themselves that people could never eat fish&chips or ice-cream at the seaside without being robbed by enormous gulls, and that you'd always see crows and magpies eating dead animals at the side of the road, or fat little Robins in the snow at Christmas. I just wish I could help them accept that birds arrived suddenly in 1962, maybe then they'd stop singing the nursery rhyme about the "four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie" in their sleep and then waking up screaming at 3am. It must be repressed} êmemories that's doing it, they must have seen some terrible things. But at under 5 years old, they were too young to really understand what the turkeys and geese, with the help of the chickens and ducks, did for the human race to retaliate against the birds and, butcher so many of them, especially at Christmas and Easter.

I'd be fairly sure the narrator is Peter Serafinowicz. In Episode Six of the series they do a Birds of Britain segment when Leonard Hatred runs into the studio, and on the DVD Commentary they said they invited the guy who did the voiceover for Series One to do it for this but he didn't want to so Peter did it instead.
