1984 FA Cup Quarter final and Graham Taylor takes his Watford side to St Andrews to try and reach the semi-final for only the second time in the clubs history.
Extended hi-lights show John Barnes in full majestic flow and one of his goals has become truly iconic but the often over looked and under appreciated Les Taylor also gets on the scoresheet with a belter of a goal.
On the Blues side that day were friends Tony Coton and Mick Harford who would become legends at fierce rivals Watford and Luton respectively. Harford has become a pantomime style villain for Watford scoring against us and Coton and when he was no longer with Luton - playing for Wimbledon, stamping his way through a post goal Hornet celebration - such was his contempt for that type of thing and Watford in general. However as anyone with a family member who has had to deal with cancer will know - some things are bigger than club rivalries.
But without villains there can be no heroes and this performance against the Blues contained many Watford legends still blazing there way towards Wembley.
Get well soon Mick. COYH
