As we reviewed this video Lisa let me know that none of the tools I grabbed at 5:15 were the right ones. I stood no chance.

Both were enjoyed. It’s a perk of sharing a birthday...eating two cakes in one week means variety. 🙂

Is there a particular stand mixer you would recommend for my daughter who has a strong interest in baking?

I’ve had this Kitchen Aid Artisan for 15+ years. It’s on its way out and the repair is as expensive as a new one, but I feel good about having gotten my money’s worth. I’ll replace it with another Kitchen Aid when the time comes. Having said that, if she’s interested in bread making, she’ll need more than the Classic Kitchen Aid. At least an Artisan or fancier. If she’s interested in making larger cakes (wedding cakes), she’ll do better with the largest capacity. I often find my standard size too small for my larger batches, but I think you need both at that point. Regular size for small-medium baking and the larger size for large cakes/breads. Also, I prefer the tilt head format to the bowl lift format, but it is a matter of personal preference.
