@@damage6836we can. Just because you have zero education, comprehension, or understanding of the topic doesn't mean anyone else on earth is the same. Some people are professionals at animal tracking via video camera specifically. That's just one job. Those people can look at the video and tell the exact speed and size of said animal instantly. NOW you get what you deserve. The average person can understand the size of a grizzly and bison at adulthood and then simply compare the mountain scape to that. Then watch the bear travel said space. This is clearly at a rate only elite humans could attain and neither of these animals were running their hardest. Not even close. The steepness and distance alone you're just part of the minority. The AVERAGE viewer here can discern that almost instantly. That makes you below average in comprehension. Lol. I wouldn't comment things that directly show your ignorance/stupidity.

I'm kind of a Bart the Bear fan. Bart was the stunt grizzly who did fighting scenes in movies, and was one of the few who was so careful with people that he did fight scenes with the actual actors and not his handlers. So Anthony Hopkins had described the scene in The Edge, where he was running from the "evil grizzly" played by Bart, running through young trees. All he heard was crashing and earth shaking falling, and he looked back, and Bart was roaring through the forest casually bashing through trees and knocking them aside with one paw swipe. Hopkins just wasn't aware that they could do that, so that shock on his face was genuine.

To anyone that reads about bison… I was listening to the song by Bullet for My Valentine. It’s called room 409… If you look at the song itself guitar bands, and several other things, it leads you to b-wing room 630 to 639 and or 1630 to 1639… It was outlined in a Bullet for My Valentine song by that rock band… Unbelievable

Wow! That's a great video! I've never seen something like that before, I would've thought that it'd be the other way around with the bear charging the bison. The 🐻 must've really pissed off that bison because they were a good distance away from each other as well.

I always thought bison were a herd animal, a lone bison. How rare is this? Can anyone answer this?

I've seen many lone male bison. I think the bulls spend most of their time alone or with a small group of other males.

Depends on the size of both. A full grown hungry bear fully large fresh out of hibernation could easily take down a smaller bison or moose or deer. This bison looked to be pretty huge. Yogi thought otherwise.

Like most videos the important stuff happened before the camera starting rolling, I really want to know what that bear did to catch and keep the bison's attention. Owes him money? Messed with his girl? What's the back story!? LOL

I'm curious as to why a herbivore would attack an apex predator from such a distance.

Maybe it was a territorial attack
@burnerjack01

@@lindasokolowski8506 Yeah, I considered that. But what has be wondering is that every predator looks at the prey and has to make a "risk/reward" calculation. No vets in the wild and they are aware, I'm sure. This kinda violates that, in the fact of both the initial distance and that the bear didn't seem to show any sign of interest or impending attack. Just seems that the Bison was aggressive for the sake of aggression. Territorial maybe, or a young and very frustrated bull?
@lindasokolowski8506

@@burnerjack01 , that could be too. Maybe they were both young. Could be the bison saw it as a threat even though the bear wasn’t close,maybe having a bad day?

At the end of the day, as long as we honor basic wildlife safety and etiquette; nature can bestow. It’s timeless beauty before us. When I visited a California Tule elk herd for the first time in my life; I thought I could get a good picture from a safe distance over a hill when I saw my first herd. Immediately, the herd began looking at me in suspicion, signaling that I should leave them alone, which is exactly what I did and learned some advice from other hikers visiting them. I also once told off a coyote one evening after overestimating my hiking endurance, I constantly imitated the long coyote howl, and I was safe as long as I kept making noise. Animals may not speak human languages, but they gesture, they make their sounds, smells, and that is their language. With basic animal safety and etiquette, we can commune with nature as we are all descended from it.
