Bissell crosswave roller stops working, plastic smell, bad bearings issue..
here's a video that I hope that helps people who have the Bissell crosswave who think when they're roller stops it's just because this hair on the inside of the machine where it spins..
I found that this is not the case most of the time. And it is a factory defect in the Bissell crosswave because the water gets into the bearings where the roller brush attaches and the bearings rust out
It will be covered under warranty if you can find a a qualified Bissell repair shop. Unfortunately they have to replace the whole head because Bissell doesn't have replacement parts on the inside which would be very cheap and easy to fix..
I recommend following the cleaning recommendations using a cup in pouring no more water into the tray up to the max line. be very careful with this if you put too much water it could cause more water to get into the bearings..
Also look very careful where the roller attaches to the gear that spins the roller on the machine. There is a sleeve on the roller that is supposed to protect water from getting in to the bearing.. but sometimes this sleeve can get warped and broken and no one even realizes it..
It is such a shame because this machine is so wonderful and work so well but there is a defect with the bearings wearing out because lack of protection of water getting in. I feel that no matter what it will eventually happen to every machine..
I hope this helps!
