I bought this without reading anything but amazon reviews. I’ve used it about 3 times to clean ALL my carpeting (about 1,000 sqft) and I absolutely love it! We have a young golden retriever, so there’s lots of hair and dirt in our carpets that this cleaner sucks right out. Definitely worth the money

You need to test all the pre sprays and cleaning solutions with the same machine and compare which cleaning solution works best. Pick a mid performer bissell and middle ground Hoover to run the tests. The Hoover and bissell machines you can both use pretty much any low foaming carpet shampoo. In fact, I only put vinegar and water in the machine tank, and just spray the actual solution down first as a pre-spray, then just use the machine itself for extraction and rinsing. Much better results and much easier to clean the machine when finished.

I like my turbo spot cleaner, just got one. It’s light weight, I’m old and not in good health. It is very easy to use. It cleaned my dirty hall way really good, still have a half tank of clean water. Only pd $79 open box straight from Bissel. Small place, easy to store. I give it an A so far, Just what I needed.

You’re amazing. Thank you! I bought the Hoover Powerdash last night (early Black Friday deals at Walmart). I knew I had seen it perform well in one of your comparison videos, but decided to buy it while on sale, do more research, and decide if I was keeping it or not. After watching every carpet cleaner video of yours that I can find - if the one I bought is difficult to clean, that’s probably going to be my dealbreaker. I appreciate knowing the size of carpet I can expect to clean off of one tank as well. Hoping to see a deal this year on the Bissell 2x revolution 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Thanks again!

I have that Hoover and it’s a huge pain to clean and when I’m not using it I have to take the soap reservoir out or it will leak all over the floor to do all the bedrooms I have to fill it 2 times each but honestly I’m not upset about that gives it time to dry half the room then do the other side

Purchased this Bissell model a few years ago. It does a good job on cleaning carpets. What I don’t like, and don’t understand, why the water dirty water tank has so many separate (plastic) compartments - for the dirty water to empty from. One cannot clean this dirty water tank very well. There is no reason for all the separate plastic pieces inside the dirty water tank. It gets rather messy at times trying to get this tank clean!

I have owned both Hoover and Bissell carpet shampooers - a must for multi-dog homes with some carpet. Actually, I'd always used Hoover steamvacs, but decided to try Bissell this time. While the Bissell does a nice enough job, there are a couple of ways in which the Hoover beats it. First, with Hoover, you can put the concentrated cleaner in its own compartment and water goes in another. With Bissell, the cleaner and water are mixed in the same tank. And because the cleaner isn't in the main water tank, you can rinse after cleaning without dumping the soapy water and refilling with plain water. Bissell is fine, it's just too bad they don't have a separate clean water and soap tank like Hoover. I was surprised to see either of those machines required that screws be removed for taking apart for cleanup. Both the Hoovers (from 20+ years ago) and Bissell machine I've had unsnapped without tools. Removing screws and a belt to clean the machine is ridiculous.

Vcafr0 what do you mean exactly that you rinse afterwards? Just dumping out the old water out of the old water tank? Or rinsing the brush area and entire vacuumed cleaner with water in your sink or something with it on and flushing it out?

I bought one of these a week ago on sale. I cleaned my carpets, the motor burned out after a couple of hours and smelled so bad I went running for my fire extinguisher just in case. When you're cleaning a carpet this machine requires emptying literally every few minutes or else it leaks. Have to take this burnt out one back.

Never use tap water in any of these carpet cleaners you see the thing is these companies don't want you to know that tap water will destroy the water pump and water lines if you have soft water you might be lucky I always use distilled water you think it might be a little expensive at maybe a dollar twenty-five a gallon but compared to buying a new machine do the math? Distilled water will save your machine with no calcium deposits your carpet fibers will feel much softer when you're finished as far as tap water

Don't listen to this idiot. All ya gotta do is run 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water through the machine every so often. Vinegar is harmless to your carpet and it dissolves the calcium buildup. Plus the vinegar smell dissipates pretty quickly.

I have had a Hoover Steamvac for years. Was looking for a smaller version just for spills. Sadly neither of these lightweight versions by Hoover or Bissell offer the ability to stop the brushes to do liquid cleanup only. This allows one to use a shallow pan of hot water to clean the machine. Works like a charm. IMO, the need to take these apart to clean after every use outweighs the reason to buy one of these over the more robust versions. Too bad.
