@FintasticFilms Great test! We need far more practical experiments with safety equipment. Please do an extended video on MULTIPLE experiments with the Sawyer Extractor. I think it would draw venom thus reducing the load of the bites. Some disagree. However, anything safe like that which draws out venom which would otherwise enter the blood stream and damage organs/ tissue is positive. Medical "science" does not know Jack Squat about this. They push their drugs and have financial conflict of interest selling overpriced antivenin. I hope you do some good experiments. Please let me know if you need help.

They’re exactly that. They’re actually welding gloves. I have a few pairs and one of them look exactly like that pair of gloves. It’s insane that companies can sell these gloves, misleading the consumer to believe they’re “snake bite proof”! The real snake bite proof gloves are called “Venom Defender” gloves. They’re anywhere between $300-$500 a pair.

I want to point out a couple things for everybody watching this video. First off awesome test. Second, there’s no such thing as see bite proof glove. It just doesn’t exist. Does that mean gloves are useless or have no application? Of course not. There are many different types of gloves that are fairly snake resistant such as the ones offered by Midwest Tongs, but none of them are puncture proof. Seams in a glove are a weak point obviously, and where this snake in this video struck was pretty close to the seams so it’s possible that’s why it penetrated. Note that even if the glove doesn’t fully stop a bite the material the glove can help by absorbing some of the venom. Also, the angle of your hand in relation to the bite distance, reflexive pullback of your hand, and many other factors can affect the actualability of the fangs to penetrate As far as the venom defender gloves, and some of the bites that we’ve seen going through them, the problem with the videos I seen on those as it’s not clear whether those are the actual venom defender gloves, or the other version offered by hex armor that doesn’t have the same level of needle stick resistance on the back of the glove and fingers like The venom defenders do. Now I’m not saying that venom defender gloves are all that either, just the coloration of the gloves looks more like the other gloves offered by hex armor the last I looked. Glad to see a test like this though. And forgive any grammar errors as I’m using voice to text for this.

many people say that this snake imitates the rattlesnake by moving its tail. but in my humble theory, it is not an imitation. when a predator attacks it several times, it moves its tail to attract the gaze and attack of the predator to be able to bite it more easily.

My original edit was in reference to their "freeze" response not being common with agkistrodon contortrix. I recently caught a juvenile and young adult. True to its character the larger put up a hell of a fight, but the juvenile TOTALLY froze. Seeing this makes me wonder if this is a recently developed defense mechanism for them. Sorry for the novel, I was just curious.
