Thats a cool story. When the 2006 remake came out, my video store stocked the original and I liked it a lot. I've seen it a few times over the years and must say I have to be in the right mood to watch it. I bought the SF blu ray late from Amazon and mine happened to have the slip. I'm missing lots of slips but I organize them alphabetically no slips then slips.

Thanks for watching and commenting! I really appreciate it! It does seem to be so hit and miss with slipcovers. I'm such a weirdo that it really bugs me when I don't have the slipcover. I've resorted to ebay before, and those things go for a ton of money on there. Crazy!

Good to see you back dude! I thought you'd retired😂 Ok that gag is old hat now, anyway great review! Black Christmas is better than Halloween in my humble opinion. Bob Clarke's death was horrific his son also died, absolutely heart breaking.

Thanks man!! I was so impressed by this one. A true classic! And yeah, such an awful tragedy with Bob Clark and his son.

Yes he really did! He was such a talented and gifted filmmaker. He actually has a few other horror films he did that I need to check out. Such a legend.

Its a gorgeous release, I had the pleasure of being able to see it in a cinema around the time the 4k release came out and it really was delightful to see its such a gorgeous and richly coloured film. The only issue I really had with it was the remastered soundtrack funnily enough...the version I saw some of the sound effects were ultra cleaned up, and thats fine, but the dialogue tracks were still quite fuzzy and warm. Which created this weird and unpleasent effect where you'd hear warm 70's crackly dialogue which would then cut to Ultra HD, cleaned to within an inch of its life and, quite high in the mix it must be said, sounds of a door opening or a phone rining, and then it would swing right back to that crackly 70's warmth. It pulled me out of the movie in places because it was such a jarring effect. I may still upgrade at some point, but for now my 4k player upscales bluray discs so it'll maybe be one for a couple of christmasses from now. In either case, im glad you liked it! it's SUCH a great movie, one that really makes the hairs stand on end!

Oh wow that's interesting about the audio! That would make for such an awkward viewing experience. I'm glad the 4k copy here isn't like that, it all sounds crisp and clear. But I'm glad you got to see this classic on the big screen, at least!

Yes it really is a fantastic movie! I just can't believe it took me so long to watch this classic. As of now, it ranks as my 2nd favorite Christmas horror movie of all time, with number one being Silent Night, Deadly Night. They will make a great double feature next Christmas!

Cracking film! Great review but I won't be shelling out for the 4k. Bob did flesh out a back story for the killer, he was abused as a child and killed his parents. I'm guessing he escaped from an institution that night. Carpenter definitely copied elements from BC most notably the POV technique.
