This is what is killing the mmo market, not the players, though many would argue that. Its this cancerous cash shop bullshit.
@mercereman6280
8 жыл бұрын
not the cash shop by itself but more the fact that they deperetly design half of the game to push you to cash shop or just ran you away from the game ie devs not having enough confidence in their product so they make it a cash grab
@TheTinyTimmyTimTim
8 жыл бұрын
It's the players fault we have bullshit like a cash shop in the first place. We have said "fuck you" to sub based mmo's. We keep asking for more and more but we keep wanting to pay LESS and LESS. MMO"s aren't triple AAA single player games that come out every year or so. These games are going to exists for a decade or even longer. Expecting them to operate and keep making meaningful content for you based on you paying 30 bucks once is nonsense and not a sustainable business model. We cannot expect these publishers to go ahead with a 5-10 year plan for an MMO with only a thin cash shop and a one time fee to recoup any development costs from. It's absurd. Sub based is the way to go. Tie these devs' and publishers revenue DIRECTLY to the state of the game. If they do some bs we dont like, we leave and their money flow STOPS. Thats incentive for them to not fuck teh game up.

***** Warframe is successful because it's straight up pay to win and has a console audience to keep it afloat. Blame the players. You people wanted a completely open world sanbox mmo with a million features, the best graphics for an mmo to date, amazing combat, 100% immersion and for it to be supported for over a decade....for 30 dollars. The playerbase for mmo's has become unreasonable, forcing devs to not look at them as services, but rather short term profit boosters. It's your fault.

I play Archeage from the NA launch till about 4 months after. I played it religiously and was a part of the strongest Western on our server. The P2W was there from the start but it was super expensive to do so (Whales business model). But the Patreon benefit was so stupidly obvious that if you didn't have it you were wasting your time, so in a way it was a subscription service which I was 100% fine with. But man o'man did shit start going down hill with the cash shop, initially it was just pets, labor potions, and what not but then they started introducing events with it that would get you leap and bounds ahead of others. (Labor potions were the main thing you'd buy and sell for money other than apex's) The one event that forced me to quit was shortly after the patch the released the upgraded wagon they came out with a thunderstruck tree event. Where you could get the SUPER RARE RNG ITEM WHICH I SPENT TONS OF IN GAME GOLD ON with like a 25% chance sapling. Other than my poorly written short rant. The one thing I want to say is, Fuck Trion.

Revelations will be a flop in the west too, as they'll treat us like non-important costumers. In fact, if you go on the site of the western developer to their FAQ of Revelations (ro.my.com/en/faq), under the question "Will the My.com published version have the same content as the Chinese version?" they answer it will take SEVERAL MONTHS for new content to be translated, localized and tested in the West. So we'll get new content half year after it releases, that is if they still consider us important enough to bother at all in the future.
@Quote25
8 жыл бұрын
thats normal, localization isn't easy you know. a lot of things in Chinese could be lost in translation. like for example, Blade and Soul, we got our version 2 years behind the rest of the world in terms of content, and it took us til now just to be 3-4 months behind the KR /Chinese servers.

I think too many people are missing the point with this. Sure, if you have a good paying job, the time, and don't care about spending money on frivolous things, you may not give a rat's patootie about BDO's P2W system. BUT the message of this is: Kakao took advantage of people. They broke promises, lied, and mislead people into purchasing a game that may have been a misrepresentation of a final product. (I say MAY have been, because they might have had good intentions at the game's release but succumbed to corporate greed.) We cannot let publishers like this think it's okay to lie and take advantage of their customers. If people don't react and continue to pay money, other games will adopt this same system - a system that makes it impossible for people unwilling to spend more than a normal $15-$20 monthly subscription to progress SIGNIFICANTLY slower than those who pay upwards of $30-$40 a month OR several times a month. It just makes me sad that there seems to be a lot of people that don't care about the division this creates between gamers. It also reduces the overall quality of the game, practically forcing you to pay much more money than you would have otherwise just to enjoy features that should probably have been standard.

I honestly think the they went this way because they weren't making enough money from the pearl shop. It cost a lot of money to produce new content and maintain the game and servers. Most people want to just pay the initial price and be done. So sure they may have broke some promises but I believe that it isnt the developers fault. It is the gamers fault for not supporting the game by buying the costumes and convenience items. Hell a lot of people bitched about the pets not realizing that purchasing them they helped the developers release new content. I also disagree with people bitching that they were necessary. People can easily stop for 2 seconds and click a button a couple of times, not a game changing item.
@jeasyyoutube63

+Drew Young Perhaps they couldve made the costumes cheaper! Selling 5x 30€ costumes is way less than 50x 10€ costumes.
@chrisyoung5518
8 жыл бұрын
+Jeasy KZitem Sure they could have. made them cheaper, but from what I understand they are more expensive in Korea. They also probably sold them at that price because they needed a certain amount from them to. hit the goal needed. All this is just speculation as is the premise that they did this because they are greedy. To me all it boils down to is the game still fun. For me the answer is yes. I don't care if more people are geared. More people for me to fight then.
@chrisyoung5518
8 жыл бұрын
I agree, that is why I said it isnt P2W. They cant get ahead of you if you are putting the time in. They cant buy gear that isnt already available. Sure they can sell some costumes or pets and get some silver to buy some gear. But if you are putting time into the game you can buy that same gear or just grind for it. At best this allows people who dont have time to grind because they have a job that takes up most of their time or something else to catch up. Which is fine with me because most likely they wont be very good if they havent invested the time in the game. As important as gear is skill is just as important. I constantly beat people with better gs then I have.

This whole thread of words is fucking cancer, no thanks to Lazy either. Pay to Win has become such a diluted phrase that you can stick it on anything. Do I like it? I don't give a shit. Is it right? See above. But my argument is going to simply go like this; Pay to Win is a term used to mean that someone who uses real life currency can obtain such a boost to their power that they will always come out on top compared to the ones who have not. Examples of this can be seen in combat boosts, special movesets, armor with absurd stats, and more. With that being said, Black Desert is implementing a pay to convenience method. TheLazyPeon himself quoted that the devs were in favor of Pay to Convenience, not pay to win. It's silly to get so up in arms over this, call others retards and scorn one another with petty squibble that drools from whatever sphincter people want to spew shit from. It's the reason MMOs are no longer MMORPGS, and why MMOs have to keep coming out. Because people are never satisfied and neither are game companies. Unfortunately they are a business that must make money and will fuck people to do so if they so please. End rant and final note; Game companies have to make money and without a subscription model to keep them afloat, they have to entice their audiences to buy this or that, any way possible. It's unfortunate.

For decades the gaming community as a whole as accepted all manner of abuses from the industry which is quite unique in the business world. Now we reap what we/they have sowed. About BDO, considering that you can make a max of 15 - 16 mil per outfit for a 30$ influx (roflmao!!), the P2W impact is really not there at all. Who will have enough money to spend so much that he or she will actually tip whatever balance you seem to care about? This is a sandbox game where there is essentially nothing to "win" per say. In no way shape or form is any content gated or segregated to people who spend cash. However a certain example of yours, ESO, is a game like SWTOR with a fake F2P and a mandatory subscription, in some periods, required to have access to primordial content such as dungeon repeats and the likes. This is a relatively high quality product with no monetary influx required to play any of it. If you spend money on BDO outside of the buy out price, it is because you want to and also can financially not because of any form of obligation, imagined or otherwise. All this upon the argument of wanting to be "competitive" in a mmorpg. You want competitive, go esport, mmo's are for fun and social interaction and the day I will see BDO or any of them on the ESL pro tours, then I will agree to start talking about P2W.

I was avoiding MMO style games for a long time (basically bcuz I was salty as a kind when blizzard decided to turn warcraft into an MMO and they did not continue with my favorite game of that time WC3). Now, I still do not like WoW. I tried Neverwinter online however, which I did not like too much but I saw potential in it. Now I am looking for MMORPGs that are not subscription based, since I do not like having to pay a fee each month and are not pay to win (having cash shops and being able to spend real money on in game stuff is naturally alright, to what degree it influences the experience is the question). I noticed a lot of salt about P2W and I noticed a lot of that salt in each and every game I was looking into. You cannot imagine how valuable your comment is to me and how I appreciate you talking about this in a laid back manner and including some facts and your point of view. Many thanks for that random internet person, many thanks indeed.

ESO sys is actually fair, no pay to win & its ur choice u want to sub or not, or just buy expansions, i played it long time, currently on pause & watching series instead of playing anything, SWTOR has crap sys, so restrictive so don't compare ESO to SWTOR, i have a lot to criticize ESO for (it has cons & pros) (like they gave moral choices to players, but in the end it doesn't even matter, no consequences, more then half missions, missions that actually have bit consequences are ferry rare, just few), but its Buy to play sys is not one of them

For many people being competitive is fun, outside of PVP there's nothing I'd consider fun in this game, sure the life skills are great but It's not really engaging content

Woah, I really didn`t expect you to reply to my comment :P That really depends on what kind of gamer you are though. Doing stuff like trading, fishing, cooking, questing, levelling up and customizing your house are all things I find fun. It`s an oddly satisfying feeling to see your character grow over time. I do realize that you are way past this point already, since you have probably hit the level cap, but if you then look back at all the time and entertainment this game gave you during that process, I would say it is worth the asking price just for that :P Thats just my opinion though.
@Colzline
8 жыл бұрын
You don't seem to realize, right now they're just targeting the competitive PvP players that want the edge in combat against other players but if they decide to stop buying then guess whose next? I guarantee you they will target you casual players that like to farm and craft. One example is ArcheAge, they have the labor points so what you can do in a day is limited but you can buy labor potions which add up overtime, not to mention some of the things you like to do might require you to go into a PvP area, that was also a common complaint among casual players in AA. So trust me, their business models are the same and you'll feel the effects of it at some point as well. It's all about the money.
@BoulderingOnInsanity

While I agree having fun is all that matters to casual players. I also think that gear, gold, among other things should be earned. With pay-to-win why earn that stuff when you can just buy it for cash? Pay-to-win in my opinion is cheating but on a whole different level. Because this cheating is on the developers end. I may not be an exact pro at the games I play but what I do know is I earn what I get. Anyone who pays for "awesome upgrades 'n' shit" deserve to get ridiculed and shunned to the greatest decree.

black desert is a f2p game in korea and korean f2p games are often enough p2w games. Fans pleaded with them to let this not be the case for the western release so the game was made b2p, promising that they would not go the f2p route. - strike 1: costumes in the shop for 30 dollars and offered some stat bonuses to, that is the price of the game and other convenience items that made tedium of the massive grind wall the game has all the more bearable and such. Personally i'd say this is bad because this is game you've already paid 30 dollars (for the base, some people got the conquest pack for 100$). The cash shop in general shouldn't of had as much of a influence on the game as it did (or does), look at ffxiv14 or WoW cash shops, both b2p sub games and those cash shops only offer cosmetics for a reasonable amount (say sleipnir mount from ffxiv thats 30$, and that provides its own mount theme song, more than i can say for BDO cosmetics). - strike 2: they added a VIP system sometime later after release (usually seen in f2p models) which gave players some benefits, one of the biggest being a 30% tax reduction using the Auction house, which is pretty big, almost necessary for competitive player and the only way to get that would be through paying money for it. fast forward to now... - strike 3: you can now sell up to 5 pearl items (cash shop items) a week on the auction house, allowing players to sell cosmetics, pets, ect from the cash shop for a obscene amount of silver. Why is this bad you may ask yourself? well what do you think they are going to do once they made their money from selling cs items? they are going to buy best gear in slot and achieve in a matter of weeks what someone not selling pearl items could achieve in months. that was the nail in the coffin that made people realize that the company pretty much lied to there faces about not making this game f2p. so essentially i guess you could put it that way, both bdo and no mans sky were overhyped and both companies blatantly lied about features they were and weren't going to add.

It's impossible to kill WoW because of how the game works. You only need to do your RBG's or raids (whatever the fuck you do with your guild weekly) and then you can play other games for the rest of the week. If WoW would require you to play 7 days a week to stay competitive, then yeah, some MMO maybe had a chance.

I still enjoy playing BDO, It's not bothering me with the cash shop stuff - I have plenty of money in the game for me to be stable for a long time. (I crafted stuff early into the game and sold potions, food and furnished stuff) When I came back into the game, it felt less grindy than when I originally played it. With the expansions of the new worlds - It made exploring all over again fun and exciting. I was able to level up pretty quickly in game with no problem whatsoever. Blackstones because easier to get and upon coming back, I got a special "welcome back" package that really helped alot. Now yes, people still sell items for ridiculous prices from the cash shop to the marketplace, but I find that it's helpful if you're a non casher and continue to be a non casher find a cool outfit that someone is selling from the cash shop on the marketplace. I think all in all the game is still fun to play as a casual gamer - I have all the necessities I need to carry me in game for a while and there's still a lot of people who enjoy the game as well. Plus the fact that bots are nearly non existent - makes me happy as well.

Blade and soul.. and so on.. except the fact these are f2p.. black desert is buy to play.. but other then that, they had no way of getting money except ppl buying cash shop items for themselves.... i dont know how you think games are making money, but in tera/bns its because ppl are giving gold to whales that are selling cash shop items to f2p players that cant afford buying them with real money.. as simple as that.. also that tax marketplace thing.. it is nothing new.. in fact it is almost same.. it will all be justified when the game goes f2p in ..im giving it till next april/may. i dont see any of these changes a slightest bit p2w... sure... game is pay4LessGrind. but i dont see any cash shop weapons that are op and cant be gotten in game.. in fact, only thing i see they did wrong, is that they said they wouldnt go that way. and thats it...

Zoeila its gamebreaking compared to normal pay4convenience since this doesn't really have an end level you you're constantly gearing up. you wont be able to play competitively against people who spend money on it if you dont. Destiny and WoW and warframe have pay4convenience since it doesn't impact other players or gives you an advantage over them. in warframe buying drop and resource boosters even benefits the rest of your squad as well. people who don't buy shop items can play just as competitively as people who don't.

It's not pay to win buying gold won't give you any advantages in WoW I have like 2 million and even if I spent it all my gear would still be average if not below average. Gear in WoW is only rewarded to people who raid or pvp. Yes you can buy lvl boost but they are like 60$ and you could get to max lvl in like 5 days so not really worth it.
@Raydr62
8 жыл бұрын
That isn't p2w at all. You get a boost to lvl 100, and the shit tier of gear. It's more like pay for convience, due to if you leveled normally you would have better gear.

@itsjonesh
8 жыл бұрын
You never played WoW, didn't you? The boost to max level doesn't give you any advantage aside time, and if you're an newbie, then buying an level cap is actually an disavantage that you have. You don't know your class, you role, your skills, you rotation. You don't know what's been up to the game world. You don't know it's community, what it actually offers and you start with quests that are a little tad more complex than the average quest in WoW with no experience in the game whatsoever and with mediocre gear that you could have in your first day after after level cap your character through traditional ways. You lose A LOT of things with the boost. Want to talk about the WoW token? 45k gold in my server. What do you do with 45k? Almost nothing. Rushes are 100~200k depending on the guild, and it's not really an advantage because the price of the token in game reflects on your monthly subscription fee, only now you can just spend that accumaleted gold ye have. Plus: Gold is not the only currency in WoW. There are over a dozen of currencies necessary to get different pieces of gear, like the ones from current expansion(Apexis Crystals in WoD) and honor (PVP), which can only be obtained if you partake in the expac's content. Gold is the easiest and cheapiest currency in the game. Any brainless lizard can get over 5k of gold in half an hour if he do some old raids and sell the outdated gear in the AH to transmog collectors, and this got even easier with the new transmog system in Legion's pre-patch. WoW is NOT p2w. Never was. And anyone who actually state that doesn't know the game well enough to see it and probably has it's definition of P2W completly fucked up. Blizzard doesn't give you advantages in the cash shop. Mounts? Only for the looks, all mounts fly and run the same speed. An pet? It will start on lvl 1 and you have to train him to get good. Gear? Gear with no stats in-game. Only a skin. WoWToken? It will be the same exact shit if you pay the monthly subscription, and even if you have an shitload of tokens most people can make 45k in over a week or even less if they know what they do.

I have just a feeling that the ones who rant about all this p2w business the most are the hardcore user. For most of the midcore and below (considering myself casual) they do not seem to care that much about this stuff and are happy to find a way to get on pearl items without paying real money. Well in the end we have to see how it will end. I have no idea how much of the playerbase is hardcore but its often a small group.

I'm at a point right now where the only MMO I'll play is FF14, but I did everything it in and there are literally no other MMOs, currently, that AREN'T P2W. This is the state of MMOs in 2019. Astellia Online is coming this summer and promises not to have a cash shop, but it's going to collide with FF14's expansion, and may be DOA. Even if it survives. I don't think anyone in the community despises them to get their fair share of money. People would have complained a lot louder a lot earlier considering all costumes are essentially Pearl Shop only. But you have to admit that don't have to sell power (or money) in an MMO to be successful.

Right but selling power in the game imbalances it. People who spend money win, people who do not, lose. It's not healthy and will kill the MMO eventually. Very short term plan in my opinion since not a lot of people will flock to a pay to win MMO.

This is why I wish more people would support small independent developers like the ones working on Gloria Victis. If these developers put in the time and resources to make a make a game based on their passion alone, we as MMO lovers should support and fund them instead. Give them money and they will continue to build a great game, instead of paying corporations who are using games to make money.

i have to disagree with the pay2win marketplace. in my opinion it opens up the game a bit. as you said the game is incredibly grindy and its not easy for someone who cant play 8+ hrs a day to stay competitive. the option to sell marketplace items is pretty awesome if you ask me, because people who cant play said 8+ hours can still get to the endgame, and people who dont want (or cant) spend money are not left out from the costumes and pets. it kinda brings the community together and doesnt split them into paying and not paying. with this option available the whole playerbase of bdo has access to cash shop items if they are paying or not which eliminates the pay 2 win aspect for me. its the same in warframe. the availability to trade platinum with non paying players opens up the platinum shop for everyone instead just giving the paying players a headstart. im courious what you think about this point of view. feel free to try to prove me wrong.

That's a shame. Recently built a brand new pc with a gtx1080 and was looking forward to giving this a go. Honestly though, is there any mmorpg out there right now that isn't pay to win? WoW is totally pay to win if you consider having an advantage over other players is pay to win, simply because you can buy gold, and boost to 100. The only thing I can think of that doesn't seem pay to win right now is Final Fantasy 14, and I'm sort of burnt out on that. The gameplay in this looked amazing but I just lose all motivation to play pay to win games when I know that if someone throws down the cash they'll always be better than me. I feel like I'm going to be stuck playing csgo and overwatch for the time being and that's just a sad thought to me.

siioHD He says if you pay the subscription you can make a lot more money than someone that doesn't pay and basically that the games progression system is built around making as much money as you can. Sounds pretty pay to win to me, unless something he's said is completely untruthful. Anything that gives players an advantage, whether it be saving time or straight up paying for gear etc is pay to win in my eyes.

Tera. Tera isn't pay to win. There is the straight boost to level 60 on the cash shop BUT you can hit level 60 in just 1 week. Plus Tera pvp is mostly based around skill. Gears are not as important as the skill of a player. For example, a VERY skilled warrior can win a fight without even being hit. The cash shop in Tera is mostly all cosmetics

its likely not greed its more survival. it takes years to develop a complex MMO. there is already huge sunk costs into developing this game. they may have not even recouped all of that money. people think that the company behind the decisions are naive they know that things they do will piss off the community but they're in a position where they have to make shitty choices because the other option is to discontinue supporting the game. look how few servers there are for this game its very telling that the game is clinging on. Unfortunately sometimes you can do everything with the right intentions and never get rewarded for it as this game launched with a decent amount of content, unique gameplay, amazing visuals, good reward progression model, no pay 2 win, and yet it only managed tepid sales. where as scummy games like clash royale or league of legends which are pay to win from the start make a shit load of money.

***** its kinda weird when it comes to pay items it turn out that in most games the top 10% of the spenders aka "whales" account for 70% of total revenue so sometimes these expensive items are there to entice these whales. its sort un-intuitive the business part of games but basically a few rich whales end up subsidizing the vast majority of players and not what you would think where every player is contributing some funds into the game.

Jake Cha any game that has a free hero rotation is subject imbalance among players because a player that hasnt bought all the heroes is limited in his ability to counterpick or pick heroes which are considered top tier. yes he can earn them with IP but its a very high large investment to do so. time is also a form of currency thus would still fall under pay to win. most mobile games also use pay to speed up the process which most consider pay to win as well which this would be comparable to.

If you are ok with commiting fraud sure. Because the devs never said it wasnt going to be pay to win ever. They stated that at launch it wouldnt be and that if it went that way in the future they would by systems in place to limit the impact which they are doing. These changes are not going to impact the game the way people are thinking. this isnt arch age where there are a billion tiers of gear and each is exponentially better than the other. In BDO the best gear you can get is Boss armor and get it up to PEN which the whales will get to Tri and have to fight to get it the rest of the way because of RNG so they wont have any easier time than you will. Plus levels matter and if they are paying they wont have been grinding nearly as much as the hardcore people have been the past 6 months. so overall it wont matter in the grand scheme of things. players from KR that play on NA have even said its not anywhere near as bad as people are making it out to be and one in my guild didnt even buy stuff from the cash shop while there. He sad average price for stuff from cash shop was 14 mil and the 100 mil stuff people are posting is extremely rare cases.

@ACouchpirate

I actually had this discussion with a friend recently, and point one being max level doesn't mean you'll win anything, you get thrown into the game with far below average gear, a tiny bit of gold and if you levelled to 60 before you boosted, maxed professions. The profession boost is about as close to P2W as you get in WoW, as it's actually a source of income, however it only unlocks the potential of income, you still need to perform the job. As for buying game time tokens and selling them for in game gold, the only thing in game gold is helpful for in terms of helping your character become stronger is buying gear on the auction house, which you would have to spend ridiculous amounts of real money to obtain, as a single piece on average costs about half the amount of gold you get from a token, which, when a token is 20€, you'd need to spend 140€ for decent gear. If you've got the money to get this far, you now just need to get into a raiding guild to experience the content designed for the item level you've now acquired, but as you still suck ass at the game, even if you have all your fancy gear, no guilds would let you raid with them, making you a decently geared shit player who's set back 140€.
@shanegrayson7068
8 жыл бұрын
The thing about WoW's new 100 boost and sub token is they don't get you far in the game, if anywhere at all. Even if you get a 100 boost, there is still the chance you are just gonna suck, and players will know this since player activity is easily traceable by everyone. Spend $60 to boost 1 character to a 100 is a waste of money (unless you already know how to play the class) and has almost 0 impact on the game. The token falls under the same problem. On my realm, most high end raiding gear that you can buy off the market house costs about 2 tokens, so that's about $60 for 1 out of 14 pieces of gear needed. Even then, the only BoE items are hands, feets, and belts, so $180 with 0 impact to other players. I am firmly against P2W when it comes to online games, and I can safely state that the current state of WoW is not P2W.
@DanielRM92

I don't think that paying for a max lvl is Pay 2 Win. The reason behind the system is for new players to experience the newer content without having to play through the old content. But still, if you have played WoW before you'd know that reaching max lvl is very far away from any form of winning, in fact, as soon as you reach max lvl you find yourself soooooo inferior in power to other max lvl players that had geared up in PvE content. Besides, you can buy gold with cash, but you can't buy power with gold ingame, gold only gets you mediocre gear or some fancy mounts, but no real power or advantage over other players. That being said I do find a bit unfair that some players who have greater gold making potential by having several max lvl characters for gold farming pretty much play for free... but now that I think of it, they have to work for that gold so I think is fair game

For ppl who worry this game is p2w, this is completely wrong. You can sell cash items for 20 million in game cash, and u can sell max 5 items = totally 100million silver, so how much is 100 million silver? It's 5-7 hours mob grindings, its one lucky drop from world boss, it's afk money from top player (keep PC running do nothing afk 100m a day), how much is a good gear? Sorry bro a good gear is about 2b and its not the best, so total u have 9 piece gears, hmm thats 18 billion, u think 100 million / week from your real money can make you p2w? U dont win shet, you spend thousands of dollars and get ur ass beat up hard by those who dont spend a penny in game. Value pack is 9m each on market, I did not buy any single value pack by cash 15$ a month, I bought in game.

This is why I would take a subscription based MMO any day of the week. I believe the maximum amount of silver you can earn selling marketplace items per week is 80 million. Most people level 56+ can do that in a day.. Personally, I don't participate in any PvP. Only PvE, life skills. So from my perspective, I don't see what the fuss is all about. It hasn't affected me at all. Other than letting me buy an outfit for my Kunoichi with in-game currency. This game is like my "waifu". Lol. Just because "she" turns out to be a "gold digger" and wants me to spend a lot of money on her, doesn't mean I suddenly stop being attracted to her. If you're passionate about the game, this change won't stop you from playing. I see it time and again where people leave games for some reason, but I always stick with it because I love the game and know that more, better content is coming. Speaking of, there are plans to add naval combat and cooperative PvE dungeons. I'm really excited about the latter. :) Not to mention there are 3 large areas of the continent that we can't access yet, which is larger than the areas we can currently access..

The costumes are selling for 20m each with a limit of 5 pearl shop items per week; foxes are selling for 5-7m, not really game breaking "p2w" imo. Sure the price may rise, but I expect it to be capped at 30m for costumes. I'm actually for this change because now I can farm gold to buy costumes rather than paying for them. Black Desert is still no where near as p2w as many other mmo's I've played in the past.

The game is free to play, there are new leagues coming out every 3 months and they are updating the game non stop. They sell microtransactions that do not give you any benefit other then cosmetics. And stash space which is mostly convenience. You don't have to buy anything, you buy it because you want to support the developers. I fucking love that i bought three of the supporter packs

But playing the NA version is boring and I'd rather play the Korean or Japanese one.
