A hike to complete three summits in the Peak District hill walking challenge: The Ethels. The walk starts from Combs Valley Campsite. An alternative starting point would be Chapel-en-le-Frith railway station. Once up on the plateau, I visit an iron age fort and then its a lovely walk with spectacular views along to Black Edge. I then cut across moorland (with a temporary navigational misplacement and a lost map) to get to Combs Edge. Finally, I descend to Corbar Hill and into Buxton for the train back to Combs/Chapel.
This Peak District day out is part of a series of solo adventures where I swim in rivers and reservoirs, tick off some of the summits to complete the EthelReady hill walking challenge and cycle along lanes and byways. During this trip I will be camping in official Peak District campsites.
