How to turn household extras into profit. Step 1: identify the opportunity!
The littlest Lennon wanted to earn some extra cash heading into the holidays. My aloe plants were overabundant with offshoots, and I suggested she could repot and sell them. With free pots from a garden center's recycle bin and a bit of potting soil - voila.
The timing was perfect, as she turned her venture into a Black Friday sale. The rest was history. Her customers got unique gifts to give, and she had more money to pour into the gifts she wanted to grace her loved ones with.
Key Lesson - look around. Opportunities are everywhere to start up a little business. Tap into your kids' creativity and see where they take it - on a shoestring budget.
