Pulut Hitam or Black Glutinous Rice dessert is one of my favs. And it's so easy to make. It can be served hot, cold or at room temperature. The traditional way is to serve it with a spoonful of coconut cream. The modern twist is to serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. My son likes it both with coconut cream and vanilla ice cream.

I prefer cooking much longer and having the stickiness from the rice itself instead of the corn starch. I know it is quite tedious but it is worth it. Yours is a much faster method. BTW a little salt would have enhanced the flavor.

Hi for 500gr black glutinous rice / 1500ml water (with this ammount water theres no need thickening ingredient) add more water as needed the thick consistency you want, 5pc round palm sugar (this are already less sweet) melt and cook on separated small pan and strained it, palm sugar kinda of dirty, then just add to the glutinous rice after become porridge, can add more white sugar to your taste, you can add when start cooking, 1stick cinnamon and 5pc cloves (put in the strainer) so not mixed up into the porridge when cooked, you will feel the taste different slightly ya, not so different, but its cover more the slightly bitter when bites, good luck!

@@Jtsh706 Hi. The coconut milk that I use comes in a packet that is already pasturised and ready to eat. If you are uncertain about your coconut milk, it will be best to boil it first
