I have so many regrets not knowing this was here when I was at my grandmother's funeral this year in Deming. Her father, my Great Grandfather Rosser Degraffenried, ran a trading post down there prior to 1951 I believe. I wonder if it's the same place evolved? 🤔 Thank you for posting! FYI: Betty at the NAN Ranch just above Deming in the mountains will let you rockhound there if you stay at their INCREDIBLE AB&B. 😍 No big excavation, of course, but there's so much to see. Tell Betty that Natasha from Iowa sent you! Their place has a pool, an archeological dig you can go through & find arrowheads 😍, and 60+ acres. If you go in July you might be lucky enough to get flooded in like we did! It was a dream & perfect temperatures in July!!

Superfund site of the future. As many rock yards are. All that plastic degrading already will make the soil toxic wasteland. I love rocks but we need to take care of the earth that provides us this bounty of beauty.

It's oxtail, and that the biggest problem today is people making up names for things, to make them seem fancier or more valuable than they are, it's ridiculous, as I can call this whatever I want as it looks similar if you squint your eyes and tilt your head, its stupid
@Lilabsolue

Exactly! I Saw that recently with indigo gabbro. Some people call it mystic merlinite cause it's sexyier and fancyier! But it's nothing but a commercial name for people who send it 3 times the price !
