I've seen these happily trudging through house/barn spider webs all the time; the house spiders seem to notice yet seem more comfortable keeping their distance and have quite a lot of tolerance for each other despite competing for food. I imagine it isn't worth the risk of a bite.

I came across a black lace weaver when collecting isopods for my mantis enclosures. Needless to say I was intrigued and took 'him' home.. He made a fantastic web of sorts and makes short work of locusts after paralysing them. He has now laid and egg sack, so now I shall wait for them to hatch......but unfortunately the young will eat the mother!
