(I live in NC from Okc) little back story I’ve only had 2 BAD racial encounters and they both the flag on car/house , so I will admit (for me anyway) that my understanding of the flag was from ignorance I say that because I would judge/assume that ppl with that flag were racist off 2 experiences years ago without further research or understanding 🤦🏽♂️that’s ignorant asl , this is just the beginning of many conversations that are needed, but I appreciate everyone that explained especially the respectful ones 🤣but idgaf what color a mf is if I fwu I fwu 🤷🏾♂️ hopefully we can come together as one sooner than later ♥️🫱🏾🫲🏻

I'm sorry you had to deal with racism it shouldn't be an issue we all bleed red....to me it's just a flag that the losers hold so dear. This song show that it's just NOT blacks with stereotypes...that why white trash and hillbilly 😊 but there are racist people in EVERY culture and anyone that feels that hate towards someone because of skin is wrong. Plus he was around south Chicago and grow up there so don't take it wrong

I'm a history major. Where I live in Missouri, the Civil War started in the early 1850's (look up bleeding Kansas). Along the riverways people from the South settled with plantations. Along the hills and ridges, immigrants from Ireland and Germany settled (many of whom could not speak English). During the actual Civil War there was a Union general in charge who put out "Order No. 11". What this order required was that anyone that couldn't or wouldn't sign a pledge of allegiance to the Union was to be removed "for their own protection". How the order was enforced was any one that couldn't write their name in English cursive was shot on sight, all males 11 years of age and older in their family were killed, all women and children were taken prisoner or banished, their property was confiscated for Union use, their homes burned, their livestock slaughtered, and their crops harvested for the Union or burned. The reason being that anyone that couldn't sign in English cursive had no political contacts back East that would care about them. The result was a long lasting hatred of the Union and Republican party. Ronald Reagan was the first Republican to win any elections in the area, a hundred years after the war. In part because of his anti-government (small government) stance. Here grandchildren who grew up with their grandparents hatred continued to hate when they no longer remembered or knew any of the real history as to why. The Battle Standard of the Army of Northern Virginia became a symbol of rebellion against the government, and its connection to the slavery of the South was something distant and disregarded. In addition there are three flags of the Confederate South. Long ago Southerners made it illegal to use those flags commercially. So, to have something to sell as Southern Pride, the battle standard of the Army of Northern Virginia was adopted for use on towels, bikinis, coffee cups, etc. The first flag of the South was the Stars and Bars and it was replaced by the Stainless Banner which is a white field with the Stars and Bars in the upper corner. If the wind wasn't blowing this flag looked like a flag of truce - so Union forces thought the Southerners were attacking under a flag of truce to gain the element of surprise. Therefor the North started raising the Black flag, which means: No surrender, no retreat, leave no one alive. Raising the Black Flag was done in Western Missouri, where that same General started a campaign to eradicate anyone that was neutral or held Southern sympathies. His brutality was driving people to the other side. His theft of property to give to his rich friends in the railroad and banking industries was creating criminal gangs, like the James' Gang, Quantril's Raiders, etc. To stop the misunderstanding created by the Stainless Banner the South created a third flag, the Bloodstained Banner - a red bar down the end of the flag so that it would not be mistaken for a flag of truce. What is now called the "Confederate Flag" was never a flag, it was a battle standard for a unit in N. Virginia. It has been used by different groups to mean different things in the same way some people see the cross or the six pointed star as meaning different things. To some the cross is a symbol of oppression, to some the six pointed star is a symbol of sorcery. I would like to think that someday we will use symbols according to their more positive meanings, without forgetting that sometimes malicious people also used them for bad things. God bless.

Nobody should be subject to racism, no matter the color of their skin. I’m sorry you experienced those situations… I’m also glad you keep an open mind and aren’t afraid to discuss the issue with others. You seem both sharp and introspective. In today’s political climate, so many are too sensitive and close minded to listen to others perspectives, even though the majority of us have far more in common, than we do in regard to our differences, which keep us separated and unwilling to engage in dialogue. It often feels like those who are truly in power, who utilize their massive wealth, remain behind the curtains, using their resources to influence those in government who can be corrupted and intentionally keep people divided and at odds. This way they can systematically erode our freedoms and create a class based caste system of sorts… If we can all find common ground and come together to oppose the tyranny, we could potentially implement massive change for the better. I don’t know, that’s my 2 cents anyway…

It's the rebel flag against the government. People either forget or aren't taught that. The only people that owned slaves were the rich people (both black and white), and it was the poor people fighting against the government because they were fighting for their freedom from the government when the wealthy people sent them to fight to keep slavery

Great reaction. This song will make a lot of people upset but it's meant to start a conversation about how we are not so different, regardless of what others call us. The Rebel Flag has been used by racist people but the majority see it as rebeling against government/authority. 30/40+ years ago it was more of a racist/intimidation meaning behind it being used. Those of us that grew up in the 80s going to school with all different races the entire time dont see it/use it for racist intentions.

That's exactly what it is brother im keep my Rebel flag flying till the day i die I'm all for the streets and hills getting together and taking our country back sick of the federal government less government we need to give the people the power back our government uses that racist and white supremacy bullshit to divide us. Yes its a real issue but it's definitely not that big of an issue like the government Joe Biden in mainstream media is making it out to be. I live in the south I can tell you this with the utmost confidence Democrats keeping their finger on the pulse of racism. Out of my whole time of being alive and living here in the south I have seen the KKK maybe 3 times 5 at most they dont come out often only whe people try to change our history and take down our Confederate statues and memorials. Even changing fort Bragg to fort Liberty. I will never call it fort Liberty its fort Bragg always has been always will be. I want people to stop coming south and trying to change shit here and im sick of a bunch of snow flakes who dont know history worth a lick they only know what they're told and people make the south bad when the union was just as bad the union actually committed war crimes against the South as well as the south commiting war crimes against the union army. If you going to get onto South for slavery you need to get on unions ass for all the atrocities they committed in the south last i check south was destroyed everything and women and children were even killed by union troops and generals nethier side was right but damn it stop fucking with histroy and if down south really bothers someone guess what you can leave ain't nobody forcing you to stay in the south. Just leave our shit alone you don't see any something is going in messing up any Union civil war memorials or trying to changes yall stuff so the South would greatly appreciate it if people stop trying to mess with our stuff.

As some have mentioned Adam grew up in the hood. The guys in the video were all his people. The gentleman you paused the video and said he looked like he grew up with those guys was shot to death and burned a few weeks after the video was released. He was one of the only white dudes ever allowed to join an all-black gang in Chicago. As a white boy who grew up in some of the toughest hoods in the LAND a.k.a the 216 we learned early on it wasn't about black or white it was all about GREEN. You either had it or you didn't. Poverty and crime is color blind. We all had each other's back. Of course, that's back in the day when you did not run with guys from other hoods. Women, children and old folks were off limits. And we never did dirt in our own hood. Never shit where you sleep. Those old school rules do not apply these days.

I’m Mexican/first generation American from the south (Tennessee) and I grew up instinctively learned that this was a rebel flag, or a symbol of southern pride. I completely understand the the flag had a checkered past, but that was mostly way before our time, and I don’t expect anyone to except it if they were not born into the culture it’s been representing at least in my generation. My family came to Tennessee from Mexico in the early 70’s they found freedom, happiness, alliance, and a good place to raise their children, in a town where this flag has always been flown by many different people…in hindsight, I grew up with nothing but country folk of all races who without question, has always excepted my family as their own, and I will never have to second guess our genuine inclusion. I would never want to blatantly offend anyone, but This flag has always, and will continue to be a part of my life and culture and I will always appreciate the people that it represents…and my guy, thank you so much for the reaction and understanding of the message and I completely understand your stance on the lyrical subject matter. Dude the klan aren't rednecks aint they aint hillbilly and they aint true southerners they just a sub culture in the south the rebel flag is Southern pride Southern heritage and anti-government the klan use the American flag rebel flag and some klan groups have been known to fly the nazi flag the klan of the 1860 and 1920 and maybe 1940's klans who probably distance themselves from the nazis because you think about we've had two world wars we've had to fight against Germans twice the original KKK would probably not be having the nazis shit. And I've heard this story I can't remember where from and I can't remember if it was online or documentary or something but they will multiple different organizations national klan at the time told other klan groups if they used the Confederate Battle Flag they would disassociate with them because that clan group didn't want to add on meaning to the Battle Flag. Little bit of info on this. Adam was pitting together all the stereotypes for both sides to show the upper class sell that the other side is the enemy and the cause of issues. Other things of note Acal is from IL, he grew up battle rapping on the very street they doing this video on. That caddy he made a point of with the crack line? That's his caddy with the rims. He grew up in a mix of cultures before he went to prison himself and put his life together. As far as the flag is concerned it's a 75-80/20 split. There are some asshats that use that as some whack color superiority shit the rest of us that fly it and rep it cause we from the country, that flag was a battle flag before it became the whole 'confederacy' flag. It's to rep southern pride and heritage of an area that happens to be southern US. This why some of the southern rappers that have come up Lil Jon, Ludacris, and several others have been seen wearing it and repping it. It's not a symbol for hate unless some nut KKK rally or something I recommend everyone no matter what color steer clear of those people they got screws loose. Upchurch had a bit of a rant that touches on the flag kzitem.info/news/bejne/t6ynt51mbat9haw If you wanna watch it. That flag has an interesting past. It's actually the battle flag of Army of Northern Virginia (I believe). Near the end of the civil war, it was incorporated into the confederate flag. The actual Confederate flag began as almost all white. When carried into battle, it looked too much like a flag of truce or surrender. The first change was to add a red bar. Finally, they took the Battle Flag of Northern Virginia and added it in the upper inside corner. Calling it the Rebel flag IS more appropriate but many call it the Confederate flag, which it isn't. Many use the rebel flag as a symbol of individual or states rights but many also see it as racist. I believe the biggest distinction comes from the way those in the north and those in the south see it. Many in the North still associate it with slavery but many in the South (no matter their race) see it as a symbol of the South and Southern pride. Don't get me wrong, many in the South see it as racists as well. As for that guy that gave you vibes of having grown up in Black neighborhoods, much like Adam, I believe he did. He was also murdered not long after this video, sadly. I think everyone in the video grew up with Adam in South Chicago. Loved the reaction.

The rebel flag is actually a battle flag .HOW WAS THE CONFEDERATE FLAG CREATED? The flag as we know it was born not as a symbol, but as a very practical banner. The commanders of the Confederate army in Virginia (then known at the Army of the Potomac) sought a distinctive emblem as an alternative to the Confederacy’s first national flag-the Stars and Bars-to serve as a battle flag. The Stars and Bars, which the Confederate Congress had adopted in March 1861 because it resembled the once-beloved Stars and Stripes, proved impractical and even dangerous on the battlefield because of that resemblance. (That problem was what compelled Confederate commanders to design and employ the vast array of other battle flags used among Confederate forces throughout the war.)Battle flags become totems for the men who serve under them, for their esprit de corps, for their sacrifices. They assume emotional significance for soldiers’ families and their descendants. Anyone today hoping to understand why so many Americans consider the flag an object of veneration must understand its status as a memorial to the Confederate soldier.

Will we ever 100% get rid of racist people, no, but the rest of us can come together as Americans, as 1 people and stop letting them and the race hustlers separate us.

No disrespect at all. Just a question. The song is called racism so we should all, already be aware of what it may bring. I LOVE to watch reaction videos to get others opinions. With that being said. Out of 25 plus reactions from African Americans they say, he’s using an A as apposed to an ER. Which to me is different cuz every race n every culture now adays is saying it with an A. N these reactions don’t take offense. Especially because Adam is speaking facts. “In my opinion”. However, when he says cracker or hillbilly, every thinks oh ya, he’s speaking truth. But out of 25+ reactions, from African Americans, I’ve seen 2, that seem to have taken some offense from the A even though the ER wasn’t said. Especially when he flips to speak on real black folks. I guess my question is, why so quick to judge when you haven’t completed the song or see the African Americans in the video not hating on his words? N yes, he’s also from Illinois. I’m not starting anything. Just want to understand.

They wave the southern flag because it represents the freedom that was stolen from them The freedom they fought so hard to keep to not be overtaxed by the north - they were blockaded in and starved and robbed and pillaged and raped by the north and have never settled on being forced to surrender or die The flag represents their only stand to say you didn’t fully beat me and I stand with pride and has nothing to do with hating back people or other races I’m Australian and I recognise that - as an American that should be very clear to anyone from there to know about your own history and struggles

As a Texas boy, you don't have to worry about the Tennessee Battle Flag, 80%, we rock it for heritage. I moved up north and had it on my wall and had a black girlfriend.. she didn't care. Most of us White boys only get "Racist" if it's thrown at us I've been called cracker with a hard ER.. I gave it back to them with a big ER.. we scrapped, smoked some weed, and are still friends to this day.

You are correct about that flag. I’m from TN & proud of my take but wouldn’t EVER fly a flag that literally stood (and stands) for slavery, it’s a crap excuse for people to still get away with flying it. Just my opinion but my opinion is based from a very small town in west TN

I'm more of a northern redneck, so here's my thought process. Hillbilly is a redneck it's just more northern in media pretense; the only actual differential is you could say a hillbilly is in a trailer park/ poor white community. A true redneck is deep in the wood miles from other people. In the end neither are near a city or that lifestyle. I spent my first 12 years in what I'd call honestly a famial hillbilly cult? There's levels to shit wherever you from, and honestly the marine corps is where you earn my true respect because that's true brotherhood. I understand where I'm from, and where you may be from because there's just no line a free societ. My brothers did their time regardless of skin color.

Good watch and you’ll feel differently about video after. You definitely on the right track though.

Some people say the Confederate Flag is a symbol of racism and slavery and others say that it is part of Southern Heritage and History. The truth is that it is both so, it's meaning is always subjective. I personally won't fly one but, I don't make assumptions about those who do. The most important thing is a man's intent and, you have to meet the man to know what his intentions are. We can't make assumptions about people because of appearances. United we stand, divided we fall. Much love y'all!! ❤❤

The rebel flag is misrepresented it doesn't stand for Racism it stands for Southern Pride. In Mississippi you will see Black people flying that flag proudly. I had a teacher 1 time break it down to me he said our Flag over slavery was Old Glory, the Rebel flag flew over the 13 states separating themselves from the North. It's the same misinformation that comes with Robert E. Lee people portray him as leading the South to keep slavery. However Robert E. Lee stated many times that he was against the barbaric treatment of Slaves. Robert E. Lee also built a school for slaves where his Wife and Mother taught children of slaves how to read and write. All of this at the time was highly illegal but shows how misinformed people are about our own history.

Me personally I would tell you the confederate flag being flown on a truck shouldn’t give you bad vibes. Because the driver is probably listening to rap. I can understand why it would put off racist vibes. It was the south’s flag during the Cival war but that a long time ago. It’s just a Southern Pride thing. Any race can have southern pride. Pride from where you are from. If you was to fly your state flag on your truck someone may not know where it is from. I’m sure the are some racist asshole that flys that flag but I guarantee their is some racist asshole wearing your favorite sports team shirt too.

I know this is an older video, but I just have to chime in. That flag you are so scared of can be, but is not usually, a symbol of hate. Around where I am, it's just a sign of being proud of your home. I can't count the times I've seen a black man or woman wearing clothing with that symbol on it. I know I'm about to get downvoted, but it's true.

Is it racism or are we paranoid? Both. It depends entirely on who’s flying it. Some people fly it because they know blacks don’t like it. Others, like myself, fly it be because we are proud of our heritage as a people who stood up against a tyrannical government looking to centralize authority, usurp the constitution, and create an oligarchy with a central bank. And we hold hope that one day we’ll stand up to them again. And race has nothing to do with it.

Here in GA, the rebel flag means heritage, not hate. There are certain white s.upremacist groups who have hijacked it and tried to make it something that it never was. I have black friends who wear it on t-shirts and as the front tag of their trucks. One black dude I went to school with actually has it tatted on his right forearm. It's about being from the country and living that backwoods lifestyle, hunting, fishing, swimming in the creeks, etc. I dont see color, period. I judge by how a man treats me. You got my back? Cool, I got yours till they put me down in that hole, no matter the melanin. ❤

It's called stereotyping bro you see my profile pic i got a rebel flag i aint racist its just stereotyping because that's what people are so used to the South has changed in a lot of great ways my brother yes we still have the clan yes we still have racism but let me tell you racism and hate does not run the South the only hate it runs the south is if you're bad person yeah we're going to hate bad people here i dont hate cuz of skin color I think most Southerners especially of my generation im gen z judge based on character like Dr. King said we rather his kids be judge because the content of their character not skin color especially my little town I grew up in blacks whites were close and rednecks and hillbillies and street people have a lot more in common then what most people know we can be connected just by drinking and smoking weed together bro the rebel flag is a outlaw symbol

You should do some more research on slavery. Blacks owned slaves and not just a few, there were thousands who did, and blacks joined the Confederates in the Civil war in their attempt to preserve slavery. The Confederate flag was, like many other symbols, co-opted to represent something it wasn't meant to represent. I myself do not believe the Confederate flag represents slavery, I feel it just represents, in many ways, southern heritage. There isn't a single nation that does not have a questionable history in some way, shape, or form. So ban all flags? or just cherry pick?

I'm 55 never grew up with racism, but my whole life never seen that flag as racist always the rebel flag. It was never a official flag, but it did belong to the white people that kept fighting after the war ended. So now I see the connection. But you can't think everyone the Flys it is racist.

don't know where you are from but down south we all say N*gga all the time everyday, everyone of all skin tones living in the projects or jails uses that word, I never heard in my life until recently that black folks in other parts of America have some kind of issue with people using that word. It was always about where you were raised and gives you your slang, If you go into a prison or jail or projects down south black brown and white use that work in almost every sentence, Facts.

I can’t speak for everyone but for me as a southern woman who’s lived in the south my entire life that flag has nothing to do with racism for me and my friends & family. It was the south’s flag when we were literally a divided nation. Northerners also had slaves and that doesn’t excuse anyone EVER doing so but back then it was a different country. We’ve come so far as a country and it hurts me to see how a narrative can be pushed down our throats 24/7 to believe that all of us out here hate others of a different race. It’s simply not true. Are there racist people in the south? I’m sure, yes. But of both races. No area of this country is free from hate. They are just ignorant people. But back to the flag it is not at all racist for anyone I know who flies it. Hell even rapper and black people wore it. It’s being pushed that it means racism because someone wants to push a divisive narrative to make us fight with one another and pay no attention to what they’re doing. His message in my opinion to say hey look we all have racist people in our community and skin color and “names” we’re given to represent us. If we’d stop letting people divide us and fight back against them is the most dangerous thing to them. I am not racist in any capacity. I judge how I feel about a person on their actions and character.

The Confederate flag mostly stood for States rights. Sadly that included states choosing whether or not to allow slavery, but it wasn't exclusively about slavery. It was about keeping the federal government out of most laws and letting states differentiate, because there are differences in culture depending on which states you go to.

That flag is about southern pride that don’t tread on me type vibe it’s not intended to be racist as a matter of fact if you look you will find videos of little John and several other rappers from the south literally wearing rebel flag shirts and hoodies in their video’s that flag is not intended as racist! I get that I can’t speak for all southerners but the majority of southerners don’t use this flag as a racist thing! Adam intends this song to bring attention to the powers that be dividing us all these years! Let me go a little further and recommend if you haven’t seen them yet that you find the Thomas Sowell videos you will learn that slavery didn’t happen the way we have all been taught all these years as a matter of fact white people where even being sold to South Africa as slaves to! No shit and what pisses me off is the BS they have told us all these years. Alex Hailey said his book turned movie Roots was to give his people a Myth to live by! Did you know that back then westerns basically white people would only survive in Africa about a year due to the different illnesses! Did you know that a third of slave owners in the south where black people some blacks even fought with the south in the civil war! No shit it’s crazy as hell the fake ass Narrative they been teaching all these years seriously if you have not seen the Thomas Sowell videos you gotta check them out if you really care about knowing the truth of our history and Forgotten History look up the video on white slavery! The powers that be have done everything in their power to further their lies literally just to keep us Divided! Cuz they know if we ever where to come together we could change this world! But think about it as long as we are fighting each other we overlook who our real enemies are who is truly doing all the work to keep us all in a certain mind set. Really no BS this stuff is crazy blew my mind when I learned the truth of our history! Like slavery was not because of racism had zero to do with how anyone looks but rather racism was born out of slavery! Truth is the Truth! We all deserve to know the real truth of our history and it’s nothing like what we been taught slavery is complete BS beyond wrong on more levels than one! Crazy thing is every race literally all races where slaves our own people sold us all to each other every culture on every continent practiced slavery! What’s worse is slavery still exists today in even worse look at all the children being sold into the sex trade! Ever heard of the Barberry Pirates! Look up Sarah Dengler her KZitem Channel her reaction channel she has reacted to the Thomas Sowell Videos as well as the Forgotten History Episode trust be prepared for your mind to be blown and to feel some sort of way once you hear the truth of it all lots of people had no idea that white people from the America’s where captured and sold to South Africa as Slaves all Cultures practiced slavery during that horrible time in our history! Be honest has anyone ever taught you the truth of it all or have you been told the same lie the rest of us where taught! Still blows my mind the level at which our schools straight up Lied to us all in history class! Seems to me it’s our political system and the top 1 percent all of us should be truly beyond pissed at! As I said as long as they keep us divided and fighting among ourselves we don’t see who our true enemy should have been or should be! Plus look at it keeping us divided fighting each other left them all the time in the world to also convince people we should do all the work that made them rich for little pay! Has anyone else ever asked yourself how is it that literally those of us among the working class have always been what keeps this country going around working class literally what made the rich rich we worked our life away to give them the lifestyle they have and they are not even made to pay a fair share of the taxes in this country! Working class pays 85 percent of the taxes in this country! So whatever the company is let say the product they make gets sold for say 500$ each right or even thousands of dollars like cars those who actually do all the work creating these products building these product shipping these products selling these products yet we make a seriously small percentage of the products value while the person sitting in the air conditioned fancy office the CEO’s and such who don’t even break a sweat become rich the workers struggles to pay their mortgage or rent and buy groceries or medicine all in the same month! The Greed in this Country runs so deep and gets so much worse year after year in this country that look at things now in 2023 they are making it even harder for us all the struggle is real and we all deal with it if your not among the top one percent! Makes me sick the lies that have affected our entire lives the BS we all have bought into history as we know it’s a lie it’s not our real truth! The fact that EVERY CULTURE practiced slavery during that time in our history before it was outlawed blacks where sold to the Americas and other countries like Britain and Whites where sold to South Africa as slaves Asians and Arabians where sold among other foreign countries as well as Africa and the Americas think about how different the world today would be had we all been taught the real truth! Honestly it’s Disgraceful! I don’t say any of this to discount anything anyone has been through makes me truly sick that human beings even have the ability had the ability that any of us ever treated each other this way! I can’t help but ask myself what the hell is wrong with us as human beings that we could ever even imagine being so ugly so cruel to each other! Thing is here we are hundreds of years later still hurting each other still spreading toxic hurtful cruel mean nasty behavior towards each other! We still hundreds of years later have not evolved enough to realize caring about each other taking care of each other doing our best by each other working together would make the world a better place for us all! Let’s face it in the richest country in the world there should be no such thing as poor it should not even exist. The Bible says treat others as you would have others treat you as! Love thy neighbor as thy self! Sorry for the seriously long comment! Truly but I pray that as we educate each other it will some how make a difference! Beauty may be skin deep but ugly is to the bone! We all have to stop the BS! Seriously Stay Safe Be Blessed!
