Q ue I’m not sure what video you’re referencing specifically but it’s highly likely. There’s some videos of Hank playing with Benedict around 9 years ago so the time matches up. I also saw a past comment on one of those older videos from a guy older than Hank that said he passed the solo on to Hank. 🤷🏾♀️ All I know for sure is that Hank and William Bilal can BLOW on trombone 😂

I really like William Bilal’s playing. He feels it! The third guy was enjoyable, but I would like to see him cut loose a bit for the lead, since his playing was more the precise and technical approach. I thought the fourth one had a nice jazz vibe but that the playing needed to be tighter as a group. I’m going to give the last guy more of a listen. I didn’t think he was bad, it just seemed timid, like he was maybe shy or nervous. I like that you gave these a listen. It’s nice to have the perspective of someone who enjoys and used to play this style.

The third guy is an absolutely incredible musician, he just doesn't have the group and intermixing of tones and personality. He harmonized incredibly with himself, and rocked the song, but he didnt have the raw emotion of the first two.

That’s why they took instruments out of the schools for us music to black folks is another form of language just think about the drums when they brought us over here. One of the first things they took was the drum because that’s how we could relate to one another another form of language for usthink about this it wasn’t until the 1950s when they gave us back the drum and then you heard Dizzy Gillespie playing with China Pozo and you heard that African Cuban rhythm we are that shit❤
