This may be the very best 'raw' wave action video footage I've seen!! Truly incredible!!

These are mesmerizing and I can't get enough of them, it looks like the people on shore watching are going to get destroyed and then it's slips past spitting and foaming like some deranged animal. The waves themselves are jut spectacular, I want to go to this place and film like this, from as close as possible on shore though haha.

The people are actually standing on a top of a fort on a very high cliff, at the base of a lighthouse. The same one you see at 1:33. The size of the waves messes with the perspective a lot. It's hard to understand how high up the people are standing when it looks like the wave is right next to them, but in reality they're very far apart and the wave is even bigger than it seems.

look how violent the currents are in the crash zone. how fast that foam moves back into the next wave is insane. u can prolly surf it right up to the face of the incoming wave

I really feel like unmistakably I have spent time here out of my body while it was home asleep. Where is this? I used to fly around all over the place. Oh Australia. That's a 3 minute trip from the states in slow motion flying like a dolphin without your physical bod holding you down. I've awakened outside my body many many many times. I had sleep paralysis a lot as a child and sleep walking real bad. I've been here and walked past the waves that stack and go back 12 to 16 times. Weird gravity right there especially when they really stack up and shelf and just hang there like low tide or something. I feel so strange. Don't ever forget, God loves you

I don't think you can. The underwater canyon forces the water upwards, so you'd have to awkwardly mount your turbines to the walls of the canyon, I don't think that would be too stable.

Why does everyone shoot from the same place here, way back behind, with the lighthouse/building in view? I wish someone would give a different view, one down by where the people are standing and watching or from the roof. I want to see what the view is like looking down off that roof and I can't find an image anywhere.

Holy shit! I got anxious by just watching this video! I can't imagine how I would feel if I was actually there, up close! I wonder, have there been any reported deaths over there because of the massive waves?
@SpaghettiToaster

If you go there, you'll see a lot of women in colorful garbs. These are traditional clothes of widows, and their husbands were fishermen who died from these waves. That should count as quite a lot of reporting!

Surfing perfect big waves would be scary enough for me(though I prefer non-life threatening waves, thank you). Can you imagine making the drop on one of those waves and as you do, watching it change into a beast that's going to eat you alive, with no way out. Never mind the rocks and very appropriate black looming cliffs.
