Always nice to see how detailed you paint these figures. Impressive display of your figure painting skills, Anthony. It has become another great set. Have a nice weekend, Anthony. Greetings, Joachim

Thanks, yes they are nice figures. Although the Dutch Line i am working on are probably the poorest quality FR miniatures I have ever had. Think the mould is going loads of mould lines from the shako down the face and down the cartridge case and legs on almost every trooper figure.

Cool sculpture done by Front Rank . Top noch paint job Anthony . Just notice than the officer nearly cut the arm of the standard ... Excitement of the battle I guess ☺

Thanks Robert, yes the second officer is in a really odd pose i thought perhaps he is tapping the drummer to keep him marching straight and not veer off at a skew.

Hey Anthony! Great job done on this brigade! You should also try model air steel blue, with a white basecoat and airbrush you can have a "rich" colour. The only thing i don't like on those guys is their trousers, they lack fabric folds that create shadows and highlights, but that's not your fault, the mold is kinda muddy there. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend.

Thanks George, hopefully my reinforcements should arrive Thursday or Friday. I have doing some other bits and bobs in between this week. But back to schedule next hopefully? Have a good week buddy.

They look great mate,I keep thinking about buying the warlord set
@granapriego
Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, yes the Warlord set, I was tempted but they are made out of that terrible resin. Also the Spanish they did were titchy. Hopefully these guys are scaled more to their regular troops. I really want them to release Dutch Line (4 battalions) and particularly Militia as there are 6 battalions within the Division. Beats having to use replica troops that I have already used.

Another great update, once your done with the Dutch/Belgium Allie’s what’s your next project?
@granapriego
Жыл бұрын
Thanks, whats next well most likely something very different. I will still dabble in naps every now and then the Dutch cavalry division being perhaps the biggest. But most probably a dabble into the wars of the Roses. I have always wanted to play hail Caesar. But I have loads of things I could do. It might take a while after I finish to nail exactly what my next “big” project will be?

Another great addition to your army! How many figures do you do at a time? Are you doing the whole unit as an assembly line or are you breaking it down to a stand or 2 at a time?
@granapriego
Жыл бұрын
Thanks James. I paint a battalion of 24 split into the following batches. The 8 flankers (grenadier/Light). Then 2 groups of 6. Then the final command group which is 2 officers, 1 high rank nco and the standard. Or standard, officer and mounted colonel. That takes about 6 days and maybe flocking the next day because of the das clay drying time.

Looking really nice Anthony. Might be that the Sgt has 1 stripe but of a different material or style. I know with the French its all about colours rather than number of stripes.
@granapriego

Thanks, mate I think it could be colour. yellow for corporal, white for nco. Based upon but slightly different to the French. That confused me at first because the saint john site does not state its based upon not exactly like the french.

@@granapriego thats the problem with the armies that fought on both sides and were supplied by both at somepoint. You get a buffet of designs haha. Either way, your rendition came out very nice

Great stuff Anthony they look really nice. What did you use for your bases, I’m thinking something like that for my WW1 figures?
@granapriego

Thanks mate, the flock is a bit more complicated. It started off with a bag of geek gaming ready base barren earth, then there is loads of extras left over from other basing material added so it’s sort custom. I could never replicate exactly the same. But check out geekgaming ready base flock its pretty good on its own.

@@granapriego - thanks, got a few bags of Geek, Scrubland, Arrid, Mediterranean good stuff. I wanted something a bit more neutral looking for my WW1, don’t want to go with the muddy trench look, more something that could suit both rural and urban.

@@emmetminiatureswargames2424 i do love barren earth its dry earth with lots of stones, pebbles etc. add some bits like left over bits from flowers, tufts some static grass etc it will look something like my mix at some point.
