Great mix. I know, scallyhunter, they were utterly fabulous live. I saw them in 1999 in the Paradiso in Amsterdam. The frontman, Chogue Hosein, climbed the curtains and swung on them, I recall. The beats were massively pounding with stunning drop outs and build ups. They were like nothing else I'd ever heard before. They were destined for great things, I thought. I often wondered what became of them, too.

Sorry... I was a bit drunk my dear. Worthwhile looking further into British Asian music of the 1990's, though. Apologies again.

That sample is no doubt from a Cornershop song. That voice is Tjinder Singh. I'm a big Cornershop fan - I know Cornershop. Admittedly the only British Asian band I'm familiar with, though. I was only interested in listening in the first place because Choque from this band used to be in the Hollow Men - an early 90s British band from Leeds - and I wanted to see what they were like. Didn't incredibly win me over.
