Just lovely, Dani. I love the color of the blooms. Thank you for sharing your garden with us. I worked at a medical center university for many years and always loved the campus. The campus is actually an "arboretum" with over six thousand identified and geolocated trees and shrubs. One type of tree seen frequently on campus is the Magnolia grandiflora (southern magnolia) tree. It has the large white blooms which are very fragrant as well. The campus is magnificently maintained with beautiful trees, shrubs, and flowers. Benches are strategically placed where students, employees, patients, and visitors can go out and sit amongst the beautiful surroundings. Most trees are identified with a plaque. Sometimes I would take a brief walk on campus or have a sandwich under a tree just to clear my head. It was a beautiful and gratifying place to work. Hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family, Dani. It's warming up here just a bit after our cold snap. Hope you have good weather this weekend! 🙂 🌳🌷🌲🌺🍃🌻🪴🌿

Oh wow! That sounds like an amazing place. The kind I would love to get lost in - for a few hours at least. It also sounds a bit like some of our favourite places to visit and picnic: National Trust Homes and Gardens. Here in the UK there are several beautiful old stately homes with gorgeous gardens which are open to the public. They are the kind often shown in period dramas - many of our local ones have featured in big Jane Austen adaptations. The gardens are so perfectly designed, with something new and amazing to catch your eye with every visit, but I do think my favourite time to visit is Magnolia season. They have some enormous trees with the biggest blooms. There is also a wonderful Handkerchief Tree in one of the gardens: the flowers look like hundreds of white handkerchiefs hanging from the branches. So interesting and random. Hope you are having a lovely weekend. We are having a typical English Spring one, with four seasons in one day; we had sun, rain, wind and hail yesterday😄

Aw, thank you. I want to harvest the petals and pickle them. They are meant to taste like the ginger you get with sushi.

Aw, thank you. I am so enjoying them. I have recently discovered that the petals are edible and delicious when pickled, so if I can bring myself to pick them, I may pickle them soon😁

I saw similar to these in Zurich last spring, they bloomed later than the light pink one. Very very beautiful! Lucky you to have them ❤❤

They really are all so lovely, even though they last for such a short time. Have you ever pickled the petals? They are supposed to taste a bit gingery, so pickled ones should taste like the yummy ginger you get with sushi😋

@@backyardsnackyard Drooling! If I was there now I’l like to try making all these and also cherry blossom wine and vinegar. A lot to do here and there, but it’s crazy hot now in Thailand esp. my home city is one of the highest rank of being hottest in Thailand 😓 Cant do a lot at the moment unless the rain comes
